my point was the rumours on twitter that are supposedly destroying her career are just stupid stan wars that have no real reach or weight to them. what's the crime in praising her fans? the incredibly pro-peace lady gaga isn't going to have a crowd of pro-war stans in her audience. a huge chunk of them probably feel how we feel.

i brought up britney, ID and bruno because they have also done the same as gaga, yet i don't see these exaggerated stories about their performances being proof of zionism. are you out there demanding they speak up too? it's only fair otherwise you're just a hypocrite...

i'm not getting defensive about gaga being criticised, we're just simply stating the truth of the situation; her life has changed, she doesn't want to be put in any more risk than normal and stan twitter is using a genocide for their own personal gain.

yes, it is disappointing that a previously vocal celebrity has become quieter but at the same time, it's very understandable. people were mad she didn't speak on pride month, turns out she had just had the baby she's been trying for for years... to me, as someone who is LGBTQ+, that just makes sense lol

I think we're actually talking about two different things. I agree that stan Twitter can exaggerate things. That's not really the point I'm making.

The issue is that “her fans probably feel the same way we do” isn't something we can actually know, and praising her audience for supposedly being pro-peace doesn't address the criticism that she's been silent. Fans can have whatever political views they have, independently of her.

And I don't think bringing up Britney, ID or Bruno really makes the criticism of Gaga hypocritical. If someone thinks those artists' silence deserves criticism too, that's a consistent position. The fact that other celebrities are also silent doesn't make Gaga's silence irrelevant; it just means the same standard could be applied to them as well. I personally don't care about those celebrities.

As for her having a baby and wanting to protect herself, I completely understand why that could affect what she's willing to say publicly. But understanding why someone might be silent and being disappointed by that silence aren't mutually exclusive. You can have empathy for her circumstances while still questioning the choice not to speak about something as serious as Palestine. And she's been a mother since June 2026, and the genocide began in October 2023 (thought the conflict's been going on for decades.)

she's been trying to be a mother since 2024 and her dogs were kidnapped in 2021, she was already on high alert

mother, what must i do?

It feels kind of too little too late, but I think she should do something but I can't conceptualize what.

a music video for Angel Down featuring Palestine (zero clips of Gaga, purely other footage) would be so random but I think it would be gaggy

I actually agree with you that Gaga isn't currently the consistently outspoken political activist she was years ago. I'm not pretending that she is, and I'm not saying she talks about every issue except Palestine.

But I don't see how that means I'm not allowed to specifically want her to speak about Palestine.

I'm singling out Palestine because Palestine is what I'm talking about. I would like someone with Gaga's platform and history of human-rights advocacy to acknowledge it. I don't need to demand a statement about every war on Earth in order for that feeling to be legitimate.

And if her general withdrawal from political activism is the explanation for her silence, that's fine. That's her choice. But “she's generally less political now” explains the silence; it doesn't make the silence something I have to be happy with.

I'm also not making assumptions about why she changed. Maybe she doesn't want to be political anymore. Maybe she's changed her priorities. Maybe there are things happening privately that we know nothing about. I don't know.

But the thing is we don't always get what we want. You want her to talk about Palestine but she clearly doesn't want to. So where are you going with this? Is this a dealbreaker for you and you are not going to support her if she doesn't say something? Or are you saying that you accept that she doesn't want to be political anymore and maybe she has her own reasons she is not saying anything and you gonna let it go? I really don't see the point of harping on the issue if you're not going to do something about it and there's no resolution.

Honestly, I think she just wants to be at peace with her family at this point. Tony supported Israel and she's still very close to his family. Her parents, especially her father, likely lean that way too, given their background and political circles. I doubt she's getting much pressure from her inner circle to speak up. My parasocial read is that she's surrounded by people with strong opinions on this, and she just doesn't want conflict in her own home, especially now that she's really settled down. There's a bit in the Mayhem Rolling Stone cover story where she talks about focusing on her relationship with her dad outside of what they don't agree on. Opening that discussion in public sounds a pandora box. We know she stands for peace, at the very least.

Going forward, I think we can expect her to speak up on things that are safe for her brand, but the rebellious girl who told Russia to f*ck off is long gone. I wish she'd say something. To me, her silence is just a reminder of how powerless we all feel in the face of something like this, it's unfortunate

I'm just gonna say it, if you stayed here since October 2023 despite Gaga's silence, and despite your constant complains, disappointment etc. etc. then maybe you care more about Gaga than Palestine after all and it's all just a capricious feeling that you have because you're not getting what u want from her, so either stop stanning, leave GGD, and raise the Palestinian flag with pride or stay a fan, stay here and stfu about her silence :Cautious:

9 pages, almost 20 hours, you could have done so much for Palestine during this time.. instead of participating in the weekly "gaga should say something about Palestine" thread and saying the same thing over and over, hoping that something will change.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Gaga should focus on being an entertainer and not a world issue activist because ultimately, what power does she have besides the ability to stir the already brewing pot. I like musicians because it’s an escape from reality.

I don't really care what celebrities think about politics. And I certainly don't keep up with all the people you've listed. If it doesn't show up in my fyp I'm not gonna go out of my way to check what celebrities have to say about Palestine or anything else. Just goes to show you the reach of their supposed huge platform and influence.

She literally took on political roles for the Biden admin.

Lets not rewrite history here to justify our viewpoints. Gaga, unlike a lot of her current peers in the industry, has way more involvement with one of the 2 main parties in the US & the managing elite of that party. She's not outside the tent pissing in. She's spent a decade actively working inside the tent.

Lucid context … just to expound a bit on the political affiliations since the Biden appointment, currently Gaga does have substantial association with both parties, more recently seeing her network affiliation with the far-Right expand through her personal and professional partnership with Polansky—specificially by way of Peter Thiel (Campaign donor, Gov‘t contractor, Vance mentor), Luke Nosek (SpaceX Board member), and Ken Howery (Two-time Trump appointee; U.S. Ambassador: Sweden (2019-2021), Denmark (2025-Present))—and his current affiliation with said Founders Fund founding four

No, she shouldnt.

First of all, her not saying anything doesn’t mean she is a zionist. Also, not saying anything regarding the actions of the Israeli government does not make you a zionist. Not all Israeli are bombing Gaza and do terrible things. Most Israeli and Jews dont agree with what is happening in Gaza and Palestine.

But in today’s day and age apparently everything is black and white. The grey area is gone, not just on this topic, and I think that is very dangerous. You get canceled for coughing to hard. P!nk got cancelled, was she doing good, no, did she explain herself in a good way and also condemned the actions of the Israeli government, yes, but she got cancelled nonetheless. Ed Sheeran, even though I greatly dislike him as an artist, should not have been cancelled. It is not black or white, and saying anything will cause problems. We don’t know what Gaga is doing behind the scenes, and she is in her right to say nothing, or even do nothing.

EDIT: Never mind xo. It was helpful to just get my stuff out there like a letter but I don't need to muck this up any more.

Just cause you don’t know about it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

but it’s very ignorant to claim that big celebrities have not shown their support.  It’s not my fault you’re uninformed on the matter..
