But also love the song and the over all production quality and her vocal delivery It was less the tempo switch up between verse & chorus, and more the tonal shift between the electronic repetitive riff used in the verses and the more traditional pop instrumental of the choruses. Reminds me of how Xenomania would write songs that felt like 2 songs or more spliced together The gays know how to party
bpmMonkey 7,851
Now two songs into Night and really impressed by the album. Such a vibe, it all flows really great on first listen, need to pay more attention to the lyrics tho 😅 saving people, hunting things - the family business

NUTELLA 30,636
SO I went into this knowing that CRJ is typically a “marshmallows in the cereal” artist for me, & that I would probably/hopefully find just one or two songs to REALLY fall in love with (& that I would be okay with that). On first listen, there are no BAD songs, & I think it accomplishes a consistent “vibe” ...but I’m not overly smitten by any track(s) in particular from this album tbh As of right now, the 🌰NUTELLA-approved🌰 songs are: -Don’t Leave Me On The Dance Floor⭐️ -Lonely Side Of The Bed (in parts, it sonically reminds me of Secrets by Miley... in a good way) -Amalfi Coast -On Wires
StrawberryBlond 15,690
Sad to say but this album just didn't quite do it for me. Her albums after Dedicated just never felt quite the same to me. With The Loneliest Time and onwards, it felt she was trying to mature and change her sound and it didn't seem to hit as hard as her poppy hook-tastic beginnings. This music is a very different vibe and while I'm glad that she's expanding what she can do as she could hardly churn out teen pop forever but a lot of this was very forgettable, boring beats and all fades into one. As there's only 2 topics throughout - being in a complicated relationship or being head over heels in love - 24 tracks seem a bit excessive. The only tracks I truly liked were On Wires, Burning Heart and Soft and they were all on the Day disc, nothing from Night moved me enough. I also don't know why she called it Day And Night as both of them sound pretty much the same to me (Amalfi Coast and Near Or far are about the only ones that truly suited Night), I actually think some of the Night ones work better on Day. Don't know why it's getting the best reviews of her career as it left me wanting and most of it just didn't feel like listening to a Carly album, more like an indie/alt pop singer.
