No guarantee that the insurer pays the bulk of that, given that we don’t know the specifics of the contract. Also: if Sheeran has to cancel the tour largely because of Kraft’s (likely unlawful) coordination between other owners and the subsequent fallout, that coordination constitutes monopolistic activity which could absolutely be investigated and prosecuted under antitrust laws. And, again, even barring potential economic losses and legal fallout, the optics are horrendous.

I mean its 8 songs including some of his biggest hits

The staging, show plan etc is all preplanned around that exact 8 song act. That's not a small section to rework.

They most likely have a plan b, just in case something would happen (sickness and other issues), and he can still do some last minutes changes and use the instrumentals and that's it.. it's not really a deal breaker that would lead to cancelation..  it's not like he never performed without them.

Don't underestimate the power of these people, they are covered in every single way just to avoid lose of money, he's still going to earn something, there's always a safety net, even in a legal battle, which is unlikely.. between the words, Ed and Kraft are on the same side, they knew a backlash would come.. supporting acts can be replaced last minute as well.. worst case, he brings Lady Starlight and his Israeli fans would suffer for real and they would say "haven't the Jews suffered enough"

I mean, stadium shows are planned out from the opening second to the final minute to ensure everything goes off at the correct time and things like lifts/pyrotechnics etc are all done safely and correctly. 

Changing an entire 8 song act, around a 1/3rd of the entire show, will require a lot of recongfiguring for the tech teams. 

We all know he can perform solo. 
The issue is operational logistics - the tech team need to replan a 1/3rd of the show, and there's no possibility to do a runthrough because it's the middle of the final leg of the tour. There's no built in gap to allow for show reworks etc.
