the day she condemns Israel will be the day I see pigs fly in the sky. It’s just too good to be true unfortunately, I knew this would be an issue since the day she perfomed in tel aviv back in 2014. And I was there watching everything unfold using GGD and people over here dismissing her presence there. It’s time for her to speak up. Better late than never.

People have so much anger and energy towards celebrities whose reach is limited to mere visibility, but little actual productive action. They should direct the same energy towards people who can actually do stuff.

Being honest 

1. Some of this discourse, and we’ve seen it on here, comes down to anti-semitism.

2. Some of this discourse comes down to people that had no idea where Palestine even was three years ago and now believe they are the be all and end all of advocacy because they put a watermelon symbol on their social media. 

3. Honest to god just do something yourself rather than relying on celebrities. It’s tiring because this whole thing has ended up a social media performative mess. I’m not saying Gaga shouldn’t say something - she should - but my god, it’s ended up with people counting Instagram likes rather than doing anything practical. I can only be of use in the UK but if you’re looking for pro-Palestine advocacy just drop me a message and I’ll pass on anything I know about future protests & demonstrations.
