at least 6 months.

but we need ammo to defend against the “i love ever city/audiance I tour!” that the israelis turned into propaganda that has been making the rounds lately

Honestly, I think it’s a bit too little too late. If I had a platform as large as Gaga’s or any celeb and there is a genocide happening I would have called it out much more. Celebrities need to be held to a higher standard when it comes to these things because they have too much influence in society and they know it…

One thing people need to realize about Gaga, she was very outspoken for many years, against trump, for gay/LGBT rights, against war BUT at some point she realized that wasn't productive, I mean, LGBT rights are getting erased in america, trump gets elected freaking twice (like, what the f*ck americans) and america is on a path of war.

We as fans know where she stands, and she does things like this to support the causes she believes in, she did the exact same thing when she performed the superbowl with bad bunny, people keep saying she not "speaking out" against trump and this administration, yet, she appears besides bad bunny, one of the most outspoken voices against trump.

Now, I dont claim this is the right way to go about things but gaga already did everything for us, as far as celebrities go she's the biggest ally, I understand she doesnt want to be the topic of conversation, she has a husband now, she's a mother now, she has a carreer than re-peaked! But she still fights for what she believes in with sublimnal messages, much like when olivia rodrigo wore a dress by a palestinian designer.

Many of these pop acts realized that in this political climate, speaking out its worse than not, and I dont blame them... This white whouse administration is straight up a mafia, how many times did trump personally call out/mentioned taylor swift? Its a sad state of affairs.

Because if you doubt where gaga stands, I don't know why you are even a fan, you don't even know ha. :messga:

edit: bad bunny superbowl, not bad bunny SNL :toofunny:

I’ve genuinely never understood the pro-Israel theory about Gaga. What, she did a concert there in 2014 and said it’s a lovely country in an interview with local media, how is that in any way supportive of Israel’s current politics? There’s a thriving gay community in Tel Aviv, it’s not exactly a big shock that she’d perform there. But change my mind.

She didn't do or say anything extreme, it was everyone else who kind of threw everything out of proportion.

And to be honest, if someone pulled up a nice comment about a country I visited a decade ago and told me it makes me a horrible person and etc., I would ignore it and decline to give any further comment because people clearly only think what they want to think in certain cases

Many people still won’t take this as support. Nuance is dead in the modern age, so unless she outrightly black and white takes a vocal stance against them and their politics people won’t be satisfied. Yet, we still vote in politicians and representatives who actively support Israel, like the literal president of the US. But sure… celebrities opinions and what not.

During the next US and UK elections, both the hopeful Presidential candidates and the Ministerial candidates should directly be asked about their stance on Israel. Because it’s far more important than celebrities, and even regular people’s to a degree. Because elected officials and country leaders actually have the power to intervene.

Imma be blunt, everyone who uses her statement about insreal in 2014 AFTER she performed there is missing braincells :ohno:

That's a cookie cutter statement pop acts make after performing abroad, i bet we can find dozens of similar statements gaga made after performing in different countries.

No direct condemnation yet, but still

edit- to be clear (because I don't want to diminish this interview), i was not/am not ACTUALLY expecting this shrewd businesswoman to ever... condemn. Lol

I mean... It's not a recent thing, it's been happening since before she performed there in 2014 and even in 2009 so if I was her, I wouldn't mention Israhell either :awkney: If only she never performed there and didn't say Tel Aviv was a beautiful city :saladga:

I mean, I guess she could say something but she didn't say a word about Ukraine either if I remember correctly.

I think someone would have to ask her directly about those 2 specific situations but we know she's against violence in general so we kinda know what she might think about them

Lady Gaga publicly addressed the conflict on the red carpet at the 2022 SAG Awards on February 27, 2022, stating, "There's so much going on in the world, and my heart really goes out to Ukraine."

Oh, yeah... While editing my comment I remembered that :icant:

Well, someone ask her about Palestine, I'm sure she'll say something similar against genocide

not that she's a full on Zionist or anything, just that she would never touch the issue with a 10ft pole.

Didn't she get "Free palestine" messages on the mayhem ball giant screens?

She would definitely say something like "my heart goes out to all people suffering right now" and certain stans would (try to) tear her apart for not being more direct :bear:

I think this is just a topic she isn't willing to comment on specifically 'cause if she was, she would have by now.

There was never any question that she supports peace at the very least. It's very much like her to decide to platform a Palestinian artist rather than directly come out and say "I believe ___".

I had conceded this issue as kinda lost with her tbh  not that she's a full on Zionist or anything, just that she would never touch the issue with a 10ft pole.

I'm ok with this :diane:

and this is why ur my fave mod :bradley:u understand the humanity behind the artist
