MarvinGa 1,231 Posted yesterday at 06:36 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:36 PM Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation interviewed Palestinian poet and activist Ahmed Sarsour. Ahmed shares that art connects humanity across languages and borders—even amidst conflict and unimaginable loss. The conversation is part of the article "Poetry Is an Art of Resistance," published by the artist's foundation. The Palestinian activist and poet thanked Lady Gaga on social media: "So happy to speak with the Born This Way Foundation about art, resistance, and joy. Very grateful for the invitation from Lady Gaga and Cynthia Germanotta. Occupying spaces changes lives, and society can move forward in a better way." https://x.com/gagasourcelgs/status/2099918076833603887 9 3 40 2

PartySick 174,375 Posted yesterday at 06:42 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:42 PM There was never any question that she supports peace at the very least. It's very much like her to decide to platform a Palestinian artist rather than directly come out and say "I believe ___". I had conceded this issue as kinda lost with her tbh not that she's a full on Zionist or anything, just that she would never touch the issue with a 10ft pole. I'm ok with this Whimsical bitch 18 2
robboadam 2,576 Posted yesterday at 06:43 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:43 PM I’ve genuinely never understood the pro-Israel theory about Gaga. What, she did a concert there in 2014 and said it’s a lovely country in an interview with local media, how is that in any way supportive of Israel’s current politics? There’s a thriving gay community in Tel Aviv, it’s not exactly a big shock that she’d perform there. But change my mind. 18
Togekiss 3,177 Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM I much prefer this to her posting a fvcking watermelon emoji on Twitter. Baskin Robbins 15
PornoDanceFight 2,540 Posted yesterday at 06:47 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:47 PM It's the bare minimum, but I hope she continues to amplify Palestinian voices in the future.
Idefix1999 500 Posted yesterday at 06:47 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:47 PM A lot of artist have played concerts in countries like Israel or Russia. I have friends who visited both Israel and Russia and were thrilled by the places they went to in these countries. Does this make them war supporters? Clearly not. Also if we look at all the wars the USA have started or taken part in just in the last few years... where is the debate about this country being "supported" by a nearly every artist?

Brie Candy 18,672 Posted yesterday at 06:52 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:52 PM I find it really interesting how Palestine has been reduced to nothing more than a token in stan wars. At the end of the day, the people who spend their time policing and demanding emojis, likes, and posts from artists (as if Instagram stories are going to solve geopolitics) don’t actually care about the refugees, the families torn apart, or the irreparable losses caused by war. They don’t genuinely care about the Palestinian people. It’s purely performative, a way to farm likes and views on X, a platform owned by Elon Musk, which makes the hypocrisy of it all even more glaring. 13 1
