Nah I’m a certified Twizzler hater but even I know this is a necessary legal move. You can’t just let people cost your a quarter million dollars for a baseless lawsuit and get away with it  or else it’s open season.

They should've thought about that before suing her that there was a chance they'd lose and may be hit with additional legal bills to repay her after this failed attempt at publicity. They thought they hit the jackpot. It ruined her logo usage for the tour and other promotional materials.

Gaga most likely had to pay even MORE money for people and companies to redesign a lot of the materials that were probably already finalized and or in production. Its not just about "getting even"...there were unnecessary financial losses on her end.

Im glad she did this tbh. First of all its obvious it was a publicity stunt + a money grab

 

Secondly, if Gaga lets it go, it will encourage more abuse in the future. She needs to send a message as a deterrent that petty acts like this are not something shes just going to roll over for.

 

Normally its the big rich and powerful in these disputes that are the ones being abusive but in this case the irrelevant little guy is the problem

It didn’t ruin anything for Gaga, come on. She had an amazingly successful tour and made a lot of money, and the logo had NOTHING to do with whether people were gonna buy a ticket or not!! lol 

if I was the creator of the original surf mayhem logo and then I saw Gaga’s mayhem logo, I’d certainly want them to change it, as it is very similar- again, even if it’s unintentional.

 

imo Gaga’s team should just settled it out of court with the surf company.  I feel bad for them. They did nothing wrong .  Gaga did nothing wrong either! Of course - but now it sucks for this company to first deal with an unintentional copied logo, and now have to pay for Gaga’s legal bills… it just seems unnecessary imo

I'm sure she's only vaguely aware this is happening, it's not a personal vendetta 

Her legal team is doing it's job, it's absolutely standard to ask for legal costs from the losing party.

I get what you're saying, she doesn't need the money of course and I'm sure this business does, but it's part of discouraging frivolous lawsuits
