I wish Gaga would make more WLW songs

Theres Poker Face, Americano, Venus, XXX Dreams, and So Happy I Could Die. I just think it would be cool 2 hear more songs about women from her. 

Also, with Poker Face I do love the song but I've always found it confusing that there's a male singing "shes got me like nobody", wouldn't it make sense if Gaga was singing that part and not some male? 

Idk I think it would be very comforting if she made more WLW songs, I love the ones she has out RN but new ones and even more would be great..   (I also hope this makes sense)

Intriguing insights, how you describe the narrative scope makes sense … I hadn‘t really given it much thought, but in immediate retrospect on the blink, maybe she needs a muse? Not sure if that makes sense, or is even a plausible consideration, but just riffing for the sake of conversation maybe

Neither here nor there just one off hypothetical, but what do you think about Stache? I think that was the first lyrical / conceptual conversession Ladle and I mused upon, but I took the “There‘s no exit, we’re in Jean Paul Sartre” as a bit of a catalytic / establishing shot nod to an undercurrent unrequited (?) sapphic interest …

[…] So, with Stache, for instance, the JPS No Exit (to abbreviate a larger discourse into a comparative synopsis), immediately just presented the ill-fated love triangle plot structure, then the rest of the song felt like it operated within that aspect, so everything unfolded from the dragon-chasing triptych … at that point in the ARTPOP era, especially with Aura and Venus (although tbh I was in and out during the ARTPOP rollout … I was out of the loop during the whole development cataclysm, checked back in during the iTunes festival through the VMA and Applause, then fell out for awhile, and sort of just caught up to speed around SxSwine, G.U.Y., and artRAVE, so I’m not too positive on the prominent thematics during development) it felt like she was exploring some divine feminine / next wave/post-wave feminist motifs, so that echoed the sense of the “stache“ as a beard-adjacent or alt-beard (tying back into the character profiles in Sartre’s No Exit) … where‘s her stache … then the shift to the drug motif—the “stash” stache— continuing that there is no (conventional) drug that she wants or loves, but it does not negate her potential indulgence in narcotics to temporarily satiate or substitute for the primary human object of affection (which, again, to the stache/beard/no exit plot, could be taboo, or unrequited, or just patently unattainable in practical physical reality … hell is other people) … then to the climax of “psychotic music head” … to her point (paraphrasing) “Music f—ks me up like no other” … music is the ultimate love, drug, elixir … and to be honest, the suitors and substances, at that point of obsessive music psychosis, are all just manifestations of her cardinal fidelity to music, the ultimate love supreme […]

Characters

Joseph Garcin – He is a journalist who lived in the barracks in Rio and died after refusing to fight in an unnamed war. His cowardice and callousness caused his young wife to die "of grief" after his execution. He was unfaithful to his wife – he even recalls, without any sympathy, bringing home another woman one night, and his wife bringing them their morning coffee after hearing their engagement all night. Initially, he hates Inèz because she understands his weakness, and wants Estelle because he feels that if she treats him as a man he will become manly. However, by the end of the play he understands that because Inèz understands the meaning of cowardice and wickedness, only absolution at her hands can redeem him (if indeed redemption is possible). In a later translation and adaptation of the play by American translator Paul Bowles, Garcin is renamed Vincent Cradeau.

Inèz Serrano – Inèz is the second character to enter the room. A lesbian postal clerk, she turned a wife against her husband, twisting the wife's perception of her spouse and the subsequent death of the man who is also her cousin. Inèz seems to be the only character who understands the power of opinion, manipulating Estelle's and Garcin's opinions of themselves and of each other throughout the play. She is honest about the evil deeds she, Garcin, and Estelle have done. She frankly acknowledges the fact that she is a cruel person.

Estelle Rigault – Estelle is a high-society woman, who married an older man for his money and had an affair with a younger man. To her, the affair is merely an insignificant fling, but her lover becomes emotionally attached to her and she bears him a child. She drowns the child by throwing it off the balcony of a hotel into the sea, which drives her lover to commit suicide. Throughout the play she tries to get at Garcin, seeking to define herself as a woman in relation to a man. Her sins are deceit and murder (which also motivated a suicide). She lusts over "manly men", which Garcin himself strives to be.

Valet – The Valet enters the room with each character, but his only real dialogue is with Garcin. We learn little about him, except that his uncle is the head valet, and that his eyelids are atrophied because he does not blink.
