It's not that they're not allowed, but literally only MJ that actually do something more than bare minimum. As in high level of showmanship, complex dance routines, and massive production values on albums, and live shows.

I am not gonna attend a pop show where I watched a man mostly singing stationary in his boring t-shirt and jeans or at best, a semi casual attire, and when they move, they do it for that basic "I can't hear youuu!" stuffs during the show. Even more so not in this economy. If I have to pay $500 for barely good seats these days, I better get custom bedazzled fashion, choreography , dance formations, concise storyline, theatrics, light show, and/or pyrotechnics that a lot of A-list womens pop stars does.
