No idea what you're talking about regarding him cheating on Courtney, but Kurt was insanely pro gay and pro woman at a time when no one really was - especially not the biggest rock star in the entire world. Remember, rock stars were gods back then. And they were ALL straight. And hating gays was the total norm. 

In the liner notes of Nirvana's B side album Incesticice he wrote (paraphrasing): anyone who hates homosexuals, people of color, or women leave us the f*** alone. Do not to come to our shows or buy our records.

This was unheard of. It blew people's minds. It's hard to even fathom how bad as* that was in 1992.

It's people like Kurt who paved the way for gays being accepted by the mainstream. He also wrote amazing songs that have stood the test of time.

Ah. Dave Grohl was basically a hired hand in Nirvana. It was Kurt's band. He wrote every song. Planned every album concept, including the videos. So when I saw "he" I just assumed you meant Kurt since "he" is Nirvana.

Ftr, Grohl went on to big things with Foo Fighters, but Nirvana is 99% Kurt and, secondly, the bassist Kris Novoselic. (Biggest Nirvana fan here ever, so I know a million tiny facts!)
