I really do think that Slayyyter is probably one of the more interesting (American) pop stars we have at the moment. WGIA dropping amidst the backdrop of a turbulent America and the tension within the album explored via the themes of rebellion, oblivion, consumption, desolation, makes it, I think, an album/project that will be seen as a distillation of what America was like in the 2020s. Not necessarily a time capsule per se (as most Trump-reactionary art has aged horribly), but a testament (or pop bible, if you will) about the general American malaise and meltdown at the quarter of the century.

As someone who genuinely doesn't have social media and gets their pop culture news through this site alone and has her album as one of their favourites of the last year. Can someone tell me if she is releasing another project? Is it an album or just more singles? I thought brand new chanel was just a follow up single to capitalise on the hype but now I'm not so sure?

she is teasing a continuation album to worst girl in america called the worst man in america instead of doing a deluxe album. It’s like ‘part 2’ of each song on the original album (correct me if i’m wrong). So ‘beat up chanel’ then became ‘brand new chanel’ and now we’re getting crank 2, so this is like the second single from her upcoming album.

It’s serving The Fame/ The Fame Monster; Born to Die/ the Paradise edition and ofc Brat and it’s all completely different and confusing editions  i’m so here for it tho

It seems to be a second album called WOR$T MAN IN AMERICA that "inverses" a majority of the album tracks either by reinterpreting, interpolating, or sampling lyrics, themes, and instrumentals. She's performed some of these new tracks on tour, including:
- Cannabilism (Inverse)
- Crank 2
- NEKROMANTIC
- brand new chanel$
- I think he's got a girl
(there could be more though and I may have just missed them)

It reminds me of EUSEXUA - EUSEXUA Afterglow too! They are like two sister albums that channel each other while contaning new, yet cross-referential music.

Meh idk. I think there’s so much more she could be doing to keep it interesting than do this tbh.

Well at least twigs released Afterglow, which wrre completely different, unique tracks.

the EUSEXUA re-release with just had 1 new version/remix for Striptease + other new songs.

this Crank 2 / Brand new chanels take on a new album just seems a bitforced and lazy
