NUTELLA 29,520
When it was released last year, I only saved the choruses of Elizabeth Taylor & Cancelled. A few weeks later, I deleted them because it felt icky having TS in my library, & never revisited. BUT this thread inspired me to listen to the samples on The iTunes Store👴🏼 again ....& I actually still enjoy them 😬 Just those choruses, though. I'm tempted to save them again... Elizabeth Taylor is boring... until the chorus, which feels very sonically sweeping & dramatic Cancelled is stupid & cringe-inducing, but... "like my whiskey sour... & poisoned, thorny flowers" sounds soooo satisfying/pretty 😩 Edited 2 hours ago by NUTELLA
Auralegends 8,955
I only listen to TFOO, Opalite, Elizabeth Taylor and Cancelled sometimes, all the other songs didn't do it for me.
LGAte 1,081
I actually am not a Swift fan since like…Reputation. And so I actually gave this one a legitimate chance and went and bought it at midnight at Target so no one could say I was a blind hater. I convinced myself it would be good because she brought back Max Martin. I think I played it twice honestly and literally never really gained interest in playing it again after that. I heard fate of Ophelia a lot for six months and now I don’t hear any of it anymore. honestly her last four albums have progressively become worse. Folklore was great. (9/10) Evermore was good. (8/10) Midnights was mid. (7/10) TTPD was blah. (6/10) LOAS was legitimately bad. (5/10). Honestly I think she should have stopped after Midnights because Anti-Hero was her last real not faked hit, taken a solid break, and then come back. She is the least interesting A lister icon and the material is just stale. Having a lot of output and massive sales doesn’t mean anything anymore if you lower the quality of your eras each time which drags down your overall discography. She might be popular but her music isn’t. Does that make sense? Her music does well because she is popular but her music itself is not popular by itself anymore. Like half her number ones I don’t even remember how they go in my head. Like….Gaga has #6 songs from 2010 that are still more relevant and more used on TikTok today than Taylor Swift’s most recent number one. Thats what her fans don’t get about impact. It’s not just charts and sales it’s also longevity and usefulness. Her songs are not memorable unless you make up in your head that they are.
