Joanne 10

As we all know Joanne’s 10th anniversary is quickly approaching. While some would prefer to not know Joanne. Joanne served as not only a more personal album with a more stripped down approach but also as an album that was intended to appeal to conservatives/maga sensibilities but with a very liberal message. Reclaiming a sense of patriotism and representation of this country but with more inclusive values. Gaga at the time was heavily campaigning for Hillary Clinton.

The album itself sparked a hit single, Super Bowl performance, Coachella show, tour, and Netflix documentary. She would go on to surprise audiences with ASIB, smash songs such as Shallow and ARUTW, and the rest of the soundtrack. Other songs similar to that format such as Die With A Smile and Hold My Hand would also resonate well with the general public. Finally, other pop stars such as Miley, Kesha, and Beyonce would go on to release their own country/americana albums.

The album itself borrowed a lot of influence from classic rock, country, singer-songwriter, and other Americana influences. Country music is currently at an all time high in popularity. Alternatively MAGA is also at an all time low in popularity. There would be no better time then now to release the album in terms of it resonating with the general public.

Anniversary albums lately have really been catching on. Mariah Carey has been releasing them for years now with unreleased tracks and updated vocals added to them. Beyonce just released B’day featuring unreleased tracks and new remixes. Taylor Swift went through and re-recorded almost all of her songs with new vocals as well as adding unreleased tracks. Gaga herself for BTW 10 had some covers from popular artists on it.

Joanne was Gaga’s first album under new management so this is the first album which could have unreleased tracks added to it. I would also love to see her invite other artists onto the album to remix her tracks on the album that fit the theme and ambition behind Joanne. Here are some I’d love to see:

- Stevie Knicks- this entire time album is heavily influenced by her and how Gaga sings the tracks.

- Bruce Springsteen- someone who Gaga and her father really admired growing up and could fit stylistically on the album.

- Los Lobos- Classic Rock Latino band from LA that has combined and spanned and fused different genres such as Classic Rock, Country, Americana, Tex-Mex and many other Latin genres. They had a few major hits and are still producing music today.

- Beyonce- inviting Cowboy Carter would be a nice touch for the both of them. Although I still want an original song from them(on Act 3)

- Miley- Dolly’s god daughter. Has dabbled in country, pop and classic rock. Gaga has defended her a few times during public scrutiny and Miley has expressed admiration from her in the past.

- Kesha- she is from TN and has dabbled in country music. Her legal drama with Dr. Luke led to the cancellation of the Joanne World Tour. Unsure if Gaga would be up for that.

- Chappel Roan- lots of mutual respect. popular, younger LGBT artist that has been inspired by Gaga and has dabbled in country music, rock and pop.

- Shaboozey- popular and continuing Beyoncé’s mission of reclaiming country music for Black people.

- Lil Nas X- made it big off of Old Town Road as well as other hits and he is a big fan of Gaga’s. He might be too problematic but I could see Gaga having some compassion given he’s a black LGBT artist that is working on his mental health issues.

- Darius Rucker- Lead singer of Hootie and the blowfish with several hits in the 90s. Went on to have a successful solo country career as a black artist in the mid 2000s.

- Brother’s Osbourne- first major country artist to come out as Gay in 2021 with some hits in the mid 2010s.

- The Chicks- major artists who’s careers were cancelled by conservatives for speaking up against the Iraq war and George Bush.

- Kacey Musgraves- country artist that has always been pretty inclusive and representative of the values Gaga cares about.

-Tame Impala- he co-produced Perfect Illusion and is currently at an all time popularity with Dracula and his work with Dua Lipa on Radical Optimism. Maybe a remix of Perfect Illusion.

- Beck- Gaga is a huge fan and he produced Dancing in Circles.

- Ricky Martin- only because Dancing in Circles reminds me a lot of Livin La Vida Loca, the two performed at the superbowl this year, he’s LGBT, and undertone commentary of Puerto Rico/Latin influence in America.

- Carin Leon- trying to popularize the fusion of country music and Latin music. Has collaborated with Kacey Musgraves and Kane Brown in the past.

- Orville Peck- prominent LGBT country star.

In terms of promotion, she could play a short limited run of shows in some areas of America that she overlooked for her past few tours such as Nashville, Denver, and other more red/conservative state areas and/or middle America. It could work on multiple levels as it would appeal to fans who maybe haven’t gotten a chance to see her, appeal to a new audience, and area of the country that you are trying to have your music/message reach to. Her setlist could include Joanne album, Shallow, ARUTW, BTW Country Roads, You & I, Hold My Hand, Die With A Smile, Blade of Grass and a few other select songs from TF/TFM.

I think in general this would all be too much but I’d love to see her go all out.

I like the idea, but Gaga has always seemed interested in moving forward and not reliving things? I know Born This Way got a lot of anniversary stuff, but realistically, its the album she will be most remembered for and fully expresses who she is and what she stands for.

I adore the Joanne album - its actually one of my favorites, but this would kinda feel like pandering to something that seems to be on the way out anyway.

This fan base will be a dumpster fire if the first album she goes in big for an anniversary edition is Joanne.

Kind of want it to happen :ladyhaha:

All I know is that an album that is named after an aunt deserves as much love as possible. LG likes Carole King - i think she wanted her own LG Tapestry and that is what Joanne is <3

I like Joanne but other than a basic anniversary vinyl I don't see anything more happening. Even the Born This Way anniversary release was underwhelming and that's the album most deserving of special treatment.

Well… I would honestly love that :tony: Joanne might not be her strongest album but it has a special place in my heart. I was obsessed with it when it came out and I’d love to have her release a 10th anniversary. Also, love your Carin Leon idea :cheeky:

I listened to Joanne a lot when it came out, but I just can't shake that feeling of 2016 hopelessness and darkness when I listen now. It just reminds me of T**** taking office for the first time. It's a downer for me. I can't listen to Come to Mama without thinking of that Hillary Clinton campaign performance.

And so much of it is sad... so many songs about death. I'm probably projecting because I'm just trying to protect my peace, so it's not something I like to revisit often haha

I mean we could finally get the OG LG5 with the dark twisted demos by RedOne that we were so robbed of by her doing Tr*mp friendly music so she could impress 1 of 99 people in the room to be able to act in such an original that she recorded even more soccer mom music for :ladyhaha:
