Hell, most people I know who work in the corporate world did so because it was one of the only places around hiring, and then they stayed there for the security of being able to provide for their families. They didn't have lives where they could realistically go take risks for their passions; they just wanted something stable. Just because people participate in society it doesn't mean they don't want to better it.
