To be fair, they all sort of carry that Judas single cover sonic aesthetic—texture … the liquid smoke on those A-YO vocals remains top shelf (sort of a Tina Turner vibe … Proud Mary or Nutbush City Limits, maybe) … Diamond Heart is like Poker Face‘s daughter, born out of wedlock to an industry exec, married the night in Vegas, and is about to go Killah on John Wayne boy monsters … Dancing In Circles: goes without saying (bars) … Perfect Illusion ( … because you can still see the cracks in that mirror fractal reflection) … Come to Mama really doesn‘t care about your feelings, so I respect that … Hey Girl, the 4am bridge though! … Sinner‘s Prayer, the broken delivery on that line about “breaks like a knockoff piece from Fulton Street” is pure understated precision … all of the songs really bring something to the table … That said; OT: Just Another Day 1 3 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
