I don't think she's changing the Metadata in her music, in AM she still shows up as Miley Cyrus, she'll just probably be labeling her visuals with just Miley, just like Kylie Minogue has been doing the past 30 years, all her covers just say KYLIE

I love her but dropping the last name is a stupid choice, frankly. I hate when artists do this and think they are legendary enough to exist as just one word. 

There's only a few people who can rightfully exist as one word and that's Madonna, Cher, Prince.

This is what I’m saying they’re the only famous people with those names, where as if we had a lot of famous Madonna’s or if a modern popstar had the same name you might have to specify. 

Thanks to their monolith you dont have to say Madonna Ritchie or Cher Bono (based on their most famous surnames) to the point where Cher legally only has one name now.

Gaga falls under this monolith too, she could absolutely drop Lady from her stage name.
