Some inherit, some start some huge company, some scheme more than others, theres nuance. I dont like that the economic system we have allows so much disparity in the first place and I agree many of them are sh*tty people But on a case by case basis id say its not ALWAYS bad. If u can make some big bucks off 1 night off a billionaire i say absolutely do it. At least its transferring wealth from someone absurdly rich to someone else at a lower scale of absurdly rich and giving some of her staff work hours The one thing that I find odd and confusing about crypto billionaires is, I was under the impression that crypto billionaires aren't actually billionaires YET because crypto isn’t a recognised worldwide currency yet? So in theory they can’t become billionaires until crypto becomes bigger and more common. Because for example you can’t buy groceries or everyday things with crypto yet, not even like fund travel or anything but you can buy shares and stocks. And that’s about it. So in theory they aren’t actually billionaires they’re just regular people (I mean most of them are probably still rich and maybe millionaires tbh) and won’t be rich(er) until it becomes common. Hence why a lot of people are against crypto because suddenly millionaires and billionaires would become tenfold in the world of crypto became common. But then wouldn’t the value of crypto greatly decrease if suddenly everybody had crypto?

Hence why a lot of people are against crypto because suddenly millionaires and billionaires would become tenfold in the world of crypto became common. But then wouldn’t the value of crypto greatly decrease if suddenly everybody had crypto? As always, I do genuinely appreciate your insights, due diligence, and considered commentary … I just admittedly chuckled in earnest at the first line (emphasis added): “The one thing that I find odd and confusing about crypto billionaires is …” Most of what I‘ve found out about crypto billionaires is odd and confusing—but, again, as always, that‘s because I’m new here But, and to your point: well-stated; I never really thought of the billionaires ”yet,“ concept … that‘s astute; but, doesn‘t that also heavily incentivize their push to establish cryptocurrency as a commonly recognized and utilized global currency? Which, by practical logic, would deeply incentvize their current lobbying, advocacy, policy / legislative reform, material incorporation, and mainstreaming / normalizing of/for cryptocurrency as a global social infrastructure (i.e. expansion of data centers, crypto mining farms)? Really interesting consideration, as always, thanks for sharing! ETA: Or, I guess, much more practically, at present, wouldn‘t crypto “billionaires” be funding the expansion / adoption of crypto infrastructures, rather than working toward more equitable distribution of existing resources (traditional currencies included)? Like, it just seems as if they won‘t see their true profit until the currency they control becomes a global standard, they would be actively working to shift the global model to meet their goal—which, seems like, at this point in history or culture is in direct opposition to the restoration of a more balanced economic structure and/or a smaller margin within the existing wealth inequity … ? But, again, this is just top line considerations that surfaced to mind when I first read your comment—I never know how business works Edited August 27 by bxr

What is a couple of million when you already have hundreds of millions? Idk I kinda hope she does billionaire weddings just to donate the money to charity. As a kind of Robin Hood pursuit; transferring money from the rich to the needy via one performance I think part of it is that it’s work for a bunch of people around her who don’t have millions of dollars (hair, make-up, band, or even dancers for things like the private Enigma shows she did). I think Gaga likes to keep her team close, and this is one way of doing that. Also, notice these tend to happen around other major things in her career… 1

And that's relevant cause so many filthy rich folks are zios theyre practically mutually necessary I brought it up cause it's nice to know that's not the case I was never gonna finish with all the Madonna pfps there were like sooo many why are you still reading yap yap yap sahur

And of course DWAS a month and a half later, but I doubt it has anything to do with the performance cause they didn’t go too all out on the promo, DWAS just didn’t need that

mlmc1995 135
Ok idk how unpopular this is and I’m conflict avoidant but I think with Gaga it’s one of those things where, she is very dedicated to the causes she really cares about - admirably - but she is not some kind of super left wing socialist. She’s a multi-millionaire, she’s isolated from most of the real world, she’s very much socially liberal, but fairly narrow in her activism. That doesn’t cancel out her advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights, mental health, feminist issues etc. I would say her support for trans people especially has been so consistent and loud even in very difficult times. She’s also spoken out about very difficult mental conditions, psychosis for example - it’s very stigmatised. So for me it’s a case of just knowing all of this and accepting it, and moving on with my own advocacy.

At least other billionaires own businesses or have other tangible things. They won’t be officially billionaires till crypto is commonplace? Musk has Twitter, owns businesses that make cars, even space rockets etc you can quantify his wealth. Crypto isn’t even a fully realised currency yet however. Crypto currency like BitCoin isn’t even a tangible circulating currency either physically or digitally like pounds, dollars or euros.
