Teenage Dream, no doubt. Loud had about 3 big hits (as in, songs that are still played or referenced today) and Teenage Dream had 6 big hits (and technically 8 if you count the re-release), so mathematically, it wins by design. Loud may have been big but Rihanna isn't an album's artist to the point where people reminisce about how her albums are pop bibles or anything like they do for other popstars. Her singles exist on their own individual timeline and I bet most people can't remember the non-singles off that album, if they even distinctly remember the album at all. But everything about Teenage Dream was iconic and as soon as those songs start playing, everyone knows what era they were from. If Katy only ever had one album to sum her up, it was that one and no matter how uncool she became, no one can deny how that album was That Girl back then. That album alone is more iconic than Rihanna's entire albumography. I don't care how controversial that sounds.

You're really missing out. I know that era isn't exactly for you if you're not into super girly bubblegum pop but it must be listened to in full to understand the legendary status it is. It's also one of my go-to summer albums every year. She could've released even more singles from it if she'd wanted. I would've loved Hummingbird Heartbeat to be one.

I used to hate the Teenage Dream song and it was played everywhere so I think that made me not want to listen to the album (I think it's catchy now though) but always loved ET

Teenage Dream the album era was more iconic because of the several hits she had from this and the re-release. They truly milked this as much as they could.

Loud on the other hand was still an iconic era because it was Rihanna with red hair back to dance music coming from Rated R and she was everywhere but then We Found Love was an even bigger peak and THEN again another peak with Diamonds and then another with Work.

Rino

Rihanna is a bigger artist overall but Katy takes this one due to just how dominating TD was at the time. and tbf it's still remembered & loved by the masses today. it's Katy's crown jewel as a pop artist

Teenage Dream was the once in a career hit album with major hits still sung and referenced to this day

LOUD was popular and had some bops but nowhere near as iconic as Teenage Dream

Tew ME? LOUD and it's not even CLOSE

Tew thee KULCHURR? Teenage Dream.

THAT album was EVERYWHERE and all of the hits were so big BUT I genuinely feel like it was all ****ing payola.

I way WAY preferred LOUD as a record over Teenage Dream. I am a One of the Boys stan DOWN except I Kissed a Girl, that song feels AGGRESSIVELY homophobic to me (I feel the presence of the enemy)
