the burqa is not the reason for terror attacks, homophobia, etc. etc., it's a piece of clothe, and you're not here to save the muslim women, because you never gave a sh-t about them in the first place.

At the end it's all about the motivation, the reason why, which as a non-Muslim, I don't know the reason, in a religious level, why in a Muslim country they decided to ban the burqa.. in some sense, it's about their own evolution as a religion and a society and it's not my place to interfere.. but if the reason, is to fight a certain sect of Islam in the country, then I think it's the right time to criticize them, because at this point, it's all about discrimination. 

but I know that in a country like Portugal, a non-Muslim country, the reason is Islamophobia, not security, not feminism, simply because they want to show that they are in power and the Muslims should obey.

Criticizing Islam is not racist, but when you politicize your criticism, thats when it could be racist. When we say Christians are hateful, none of us are thinking about taking their rights away or fearmongering about them. So nobody has an issue with you criticizing Islam, but you support abandoning western and progressive values in order to discriminate against Muslims.

Im a Sunni Muslim, and its okay that I have cirticism of Shia Muslims. But if I go to a place where Shias are a discriminated minority, and I start sharing my cirticism on Shias, and start talking about how their religion is linked to Iran, what do you think im doing? em I just sharing my opinion on a religion? technically yes thats all im doing. Are Shias a race? technically they are not a race. But we all know I am being racist and im not just criticizing a religion.

This is not an accusation against you, I dont know you, im just trying to explain to you what we mean.

we all criticize Christianity and *individal* Christians when they say something hateful, but we don't make laws to stop Christians from wearing a necklace with a cross in public or stop them from praying to Jesus before they eat a meal at the restaurants.

And what is funny that they are talking about the burqa like it's the source of the radical Islam...
