I mean that user didn't mention you, and just spoke generally about the state of this thread where users have been banned for blatant racism.

And yet despite insisting you've said nothing questionable, you saw a post talking about users being comfortably racist and felt you belonged in that cohort...

no i didn’t belong in that cohort. i had my own opinion on the matter. never that serious. again, islam is a religion not a race. it would be like saying all christians are white.

I mean, then why did you respond to a post that wasn't about you unless you recognised yourself in it?

Personally, I think you do belong in it because your history of posts in this thread is "islam is not a race" which is correct, but also saying that native portugese citizens who happen to be practicising muslims should leave Portugal and go somewhere where they are welcome based purely on their identity.

you must be projecting i guess. i said that if they didn’t like the law they could go to a country where that law didn’t exist. it is a choice to wear a burqa. in some muslim majority countries christians have restrictions on things they can wear or practice yet they choose to stay in those countries. religion is a choice. i wouldn’t break the law for my religion.

I guess you aren’t progressive then and for free speech. many people have a right to criticize religious practices due to religious trauma. check your privilege.

Freedom of speech means freedom of expression and freedom of religion. Freedom of religion means being able to practice your faith insofar as that practice doesn’t hurt anyone else. Wearing a burqa, whether you like it or not, is a form of religious expression that does not directly harm others and is, thus, a protected religious liberty. You have every right to criticize a religion, but endorsing the state curtailing their religious freedom is a bridge too far. Check your privilege.

The only projection is you seeing a post calling out racists that doesnt name you and identifying as a racist in response to it by complaining it was posted

And if you believe that, and i don't entirely disagree. Then why did you respond to a post that didn't name you complaining about racism on this site and this thread?
Like it wasnt about you or your posts but you chose to make it that

this is the exact attitude you're treating muslims in portugal just for existing

if you find it hurtful, good. reflect on that because that's how you are making others feel

mother, what must i do?

i'm sorry, that was rude of me....i'm in a stressed era recently so not bringing my best self. I think the way you talk about this is dangerous and contributing to a slippery slope, but I'm gonna exit the thread now.
