princedebleble: It's a bit too similar to the original, which already dies down the album too much too soon towards the end.

Bronco: I'll be honest, I get bored by this song and the Requiem version is no different. The instrumental on Requiem is vastly superior, but this song screams interlude.

BeyonkaAte: Again, magnificent vocal performance, just her and a piano, and an eerie barking noise ?? love it !! But yeah kind of monotonous throughout.

gagacabana: THE BEAASSSSTSTT

Nightcallsmile: Also enhances the OG through a more dynamic vocal performance.

PlastiscGuy: I'm biased. I didn't like the performance but I love the song and I know y'all with probably vote it last.

Huttont: I might be in the minority but I like the album version better than this. The timing sounds off to me.

PartySick: Nastyyyyy. Makes me want all kinds of things.

Auralegends: It's ok, better than the album version

****oDanceFight: Just fine!

#9. LoveDrug - 7.95

Highest Score: 11 — PartySick, Chromanne

Spoiler
Bronco: Ace of Base meets Mayhem. All that she wants is another hit of your LoveDrug. Feels like watching the sunset from a rooftop bar in the mediterranian after a breakup.

BeyonkaAte: Her with a guitar is just magic! Lovely acoustic version that could have been on an MTV Unplugged set (if that was tsill a thing). The vocoder elemnts really elevate it too and add a bit of variation (side note i adore Gaga with a vocoder more of this pls).

gagacabana: Undercooked I fear

Nightcallsmile: I like this one as much as the OG.

PlastiscGuy: I love it! I just prefer the Mayhem Ball version.

Huttont: Wasn’t sure how she was going to make this fit the requiem vibe but I love the effect she uses on her voice.

PartySick: I will die defending this track. The people who click with this one are the only ones who will understand when I say the EMOTION she's able to convey with all the moving parts in this song, or by stripping them away and leaving the droning and vocoder, are mind-blowing and soul-crushing. Truly, she is a woman who has seen the darkest corners of her own mind and made peace with it.

PSYCHOSHTICK: Love the combination of the electronic vocoder + acoustic guitar. Reminded me of the folktronica vibes of Madonna's American Life album.

Auralegends: I love LoveDrug but at first listen I expected more. Like it now.

Chromanne: I felt like my child version was running freely into the Windows grassland wallpaper.

PornoDanceFight: Not the most creative reinterpretation, but the vocoder vocals really add more melancholy to this track.

#8. How Bad Do U Want Me - 8.13

Highest Score: 11 — BeyonkaAte

Lowest Score: 2 — PlastiscGuy, Arcane

Spoiler

Horny Chicken: Moved me as much as the original.

princedebleble: Idk, something misses for me to be like yas Gaga, a 10!

Bronco: Takes the 80s vibe of the original and cranks it to 100. I think this blended with the album version in a live setting would be euphoric on a future tour - that slowed synth heavy intro leading into a drop with the full album version kicking in would hit so hard.

BeyonkaAte: the way this version is pure perfection and imo surpasses the original. The interlude prior sets it up so beautifully and the song is allowed to crescendo from there and explode at the end. Actual chills !!! magical and transcendant! this version needs to become a staple on all her future tours bc WOWOWOWOWOW

gagacabana: I didn't think i could ever give this song a 10... Gaga's power iktr

Nightcallsmile: Brilliant vocal performance. Sounds religious.

PlastiscGuy: Am I crazy? I didn't like it. I prefer the original version.

Huttont: It’s fine. Very similar to the album version.

PartySick: It's grown on me a lot but every game needs a loser. I do love the rearranged lead synth though. Makes it feel way less Taylor and way more 80s.

PSYCHOSHTICK: Honestly, better than the album version. Less Swift, more emotion.

Auralegends: A bit to accoustic

PornoDanceFight: She took me to church with this one...the synths...truly divine. It feels like a homecoming.

#7. Vanish Into You - 8.23

Spoiler

Horny Chicken: Sublime.

princedebleble: Simply gorgeous!

Bronco: The best reinvention of the first half of the show. Feels way more tender and emotive.

BloodyVelvet: INCREDIBLE

BeyonkaAte: Love the beginning with just her voice and the thumping bass guitar, and the build up on the chorus with the glam rock-ish guitars. But the song kinda stays at this level and doesn't explode like i hoped it would. It's like a halfway acoustic rendition, but the Stephen Colbert version sends chills down my spine with those godly vocals. This one? somehow misses the mark a bit. Still a fantastic song and performance.

gagacabana: CHILLS. Beautiful.

Nightcallsmile: Good.

Ladle Ghoulash: Stellar

PlastiscGuy: As much as I love this song, I don't like what she did with the vocals. I prefer other versions...

Huttont: Beautiful

PartySick: Captures the romantic energy from songs like Gypsy with a fresh, timeless sound. We've definitely not heard this song for the last time and I hope it remains an acoustic staple.

Auralegends: I love this

PornoDanceFight: I feel like this arrangement loses a little bit of the magic of previous renditions of the song, but I also think that's unfair to say as we already have some legendary performances of this track.

Spoiler

princedebleble: Idk, I feel like she could have made it more epic had she made the song explode towards the end., I'm missing some drums. like it starts killing off the tempo of everything even sooner than OG mayhem

Bronco: Bodies the original. Another moment where I hope its a glimpse of the LG8 vision.

BeyonkaAte: Exceptional vocal performance !! But again i do feel like the instrumentation stays kind of monotonous throughout, with a few exceptions at certain points. Lacks the punch that the album version serves. Still very enjoyable!

gagacabana: Hauntingly beautiful

Nightcallsmile: I like it, it sounds moody and mysterious.

PlastiscGuy: Cute.

Huttont: I prefer this to the album. She sounds heavenly.

PartySick: The way she just straight up put a Michael Jackson song on this album as an apology for buying that MJ exhibit before I could visit it. It morphed into such a cinematic sound too. Maybe they'll use it for Michael 2, I dunno.

PSYCHOSHTICK: Album version over this, but still amazing!

Auralegends: Great rendition

PornoDanceFight: I always considered ZombieBoy and SOAM as sister tracks, and their renditions in Requiem only solidify that relationship further. They might be the most rearranged/deconstructed tracks on this whole project and serve as beautiful gothic complements.

Ngl SOAM is one of the weaker reimaginings on here. Not unhappy with where it fell, but Disease absolutely clears it, imo.

Disease's reimagining just destroyed its identity imo.

Both it & Perfect Celebrity just had the soul ripped out of them and given nothing in return.

Like they are the only 2 tracks on Requiem I skip. Hate them.

I see what you mean with PC in the sense that the REQUIEM version is missing a lot for grit, but I think Disease’s sparse, gothic synth rock feel and Gaga’s delivery is just fantastic tbh. IMO, the MEGARATE got it right with DCT being the worst on REQUIEM. Does virtually nothing with the source material.
