I do not like Chris Brown

(& technically the words "indefinitely suspended" DO make sense, because it is framed in an open-ended way)

 

BUT, in case no similar opportunity presents itself in the future...

I am going to use this thread to gripe about something that has long annoyed me, to see if anyone else takes issue with it: 

when social media (one app/site in particular, cough) ban/terminate an account... but use the word "suspend" 

"this account has been suspended"

THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.

SUSPEND implies something temporary that will eventually be reversed (what goes up must come down, more or less)

 

"held in suspense"

"the suspense is killing me"

@Controversiaga was suspended from school"

 

Suspend is not a word that can be used interchangeably with banish/exile/blocked

Did he know though? Not to defend the BTS member because idgaf about him, but I don't think everyone is aware of Chris' story, particularly in Korea and particularly a man who's been working so much since he was a teen probably (given kpop idols have years of training)

Yeah I'd be curious to know this myself. Feel bad for him if that's the case. I highly doubt the Chris Brown situation had much coverage outside of the Western world.
