Helxig 45,431
This feels so bittersweet to me. I was OBSESSED with KH1 and KH2 when I was young. They were really important to me and became huge parts of my life. But the series went so off the rails that I don't recognise it anymore. By the time KH3 came around I was so excited, I'd waited FOURTEEN YEARS for it.. but it was so confusing and nonsensical and seemed to have completely lost the charm the first couple had I KNOW.. a lot of people love the whole franchise. But for me it just died after KH2 This is funny timing because I've literally spent the whole past two days obsessing over my own game I've created in my head as a 'Kingdom Hearts-like' and dreaming about developing it if I came upon like $50million something in my heart must have sensed this news was coming I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

The unwillingness of the writers to ever tie ANY loose ends together really hurt my investment in the story and its characters. The fact that even the discontinued mobile games contain crucial (yet confusing) plot points is frustrating to no end. Still, at the very least I'm looking forward to KH4 in terms of gameplay and music. Those are always good (for the main titles).

They removed all the FF characters (which was like 50% of the original concept of the game in the first place) and the plot made zero sense. "Character A is a clone of Character B who is a reincarnation of Character C who split in half to create Character D who is Character E from another timeline". Like what the actual ****

Even back in the day as a teen I remember being frustrated because they kept releasing spin-offs on every console possible, and we could only afford the PS2. So even if I wanted to, I couldn't have played any of them except the first two. Then all that lore became so.. wide and spread and just convuluted that I gave up on it. I really tried with K3 but it just didn't hit. I mean removing all the Final Fantasy but adding in the Disneyworld rides as an attack? What the hell is even that And also I'd look forward to the 4th game but I cannot afford to buy another console just to play ONE game, and I doubt it will release on PC (at least right away) and I just don't even wanna play it on PC anyway considering I spent hundreds of hours playing the first two on TVs.. so idk if I'll even get to playing it. Which makes me sad. But I'll try to just keep the fond memories of the first two close and be happy with that 23 minutes ago, Main Pop Girl said: The third game was absolutely dreadful. And not to mention the fact that did the thing I hate in movies/TV shows/games where they change the lore of the original so they can shoehorn in other stuff. It feels disrespectful to the original that birthed the series in the first place. An example with Kingdom Hearts is that in the first game the keyblade was this mystical weapon that chose it's master and there was only one. And it was a shocking twist when it gave itself over to Riku, and then it was a shocking twist that Kairi had her own keyblade in KH2 (which, sidenote, led to absolutely no payoff because she remained the helpless damsel in distress and never used it). But then in all the next games there's a ****ing keyblade master on every street corner and keyblades are a dime a dozen and there's literally thousands of them just discarded. That's not exciting to me because it takes away everything that was special about the first games. Honestly give me a week and I promise you I could write a more compelling story for a KH3 set immediately after KH2 with none of the spin-offs And while I'm ranting: all the revivals of dead characters and clones and reincarnations and the 7 ****ing xehanorts and all the ansems and xemnases and all that garbage just feels like a spit in the face to anyone who enjoyed the straight-forward and hearfelt stories of the first two games Edited 43 minutes ago by Helxig I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
