okay normally I don’t think a follow necessarily means an endorsement, not for non-famous normies anyway, but jesus christ (no pun intended), that’s a plethora of hateful accounts that I’m sure she watches in her quest to feel like the good little christian trad wife whose husband will never leave her (her insecurity is legendary at this point)

btw streets have said for years Gavin Rossdale cheated on her with one of the dolls soooo, wouldn’t be shocked if this was at least partially why she follows people like this 

it’s really such a shame, because she and No Doubt were both the soundtrack to most of my life, and she’s just dreadful now (and that’s not even mentioning all the good scrapped music she abandoned in 2021 to go pseudo-country).

I know there are good, accepting Christians out there who don’t think that being gay is a one-way trip to hell, I know many, so I have no problem with her practicing the religion. But if you’re going to support hateful voices who use the religion as a way to sew judgment and false narratives against groups of people, then f*** off.

Almost everyone in the world belongs to a religion thats anti gay even if they are not anti gay. Religion is too normalized in society that even Gays support these religions. I just cant bring myself to attack someone for belonging to a religion? Its like Vegans believe eating a burger is literally murder, but they still have friends that eat burgers because they have self awareness of the world we live in. This topic is framed like shes been caught following anti gays, but shes just following public christian figures, almost all christian public figures are anti gay.

There still is concerns but not that much for me as of now.  She could do better choices like follow better Christians and not join weird apps, and maybe express her support for the LGBTQ and where she stands while still being a Christian.

I’m gonna speak real slowly because I know reading and nuance of words is not high on your list of strong suits. 

The situation from TWO YEARS ago that you’re bringing up is quite different from this one. There’s a stark difference between being religious and aligning yourself with homophobia or racism. 

Just as I said in the post you’re bringing up, her Christianity is not news. And for three decades, it never manifested itself in any harmful or hateful way. Even in that 2024 thread it hadn’t. Simply having a religion and practicing one does not mean that someone is automatically a bigot. There are many denominations of Christianity and other religions that are publicly supportive of LGBTQ+ rights, immigrant rights, religious freedom for other discriminated against religions, etc.

I don’t belong to one because I’m not interested. Being from the South, I was only exposed and openly persecuted by Southern Baptists, and it turned me off the whole affair. But my own trauma should not cloud the fact that I cannot assume poorly of all simply because of what some chose to do to me. 

(Except Southern Baptists, they all suck mostly.)

You ought to judge someone on their actions rather than their religion. In 2024, Gwen’s actions were not aligning her with anything detestable.

In 2026, they are. Naturally, as more information filters out, of course my perspective has changed. Because I actually wait to see real information before making decisions and I react only to information I have, not implication.  

So naturally, seeing as these are two different situations, they ought to be discussed differently. Situations change, people change, and everyone has a right to change their points of view as new information becomes available. And if they do, that does not mean their previous points of view are worthy of what you’re attempting to do because everyone at the time was reacting to only the information that was available to them. 

I am sad Gwen has gone this route. It’s heartbreaking, and it is detestable, and she is deserving of every ounce of criticism she’s collecting for it.  It’s gross and a betrayal of everything she once stood for. It’s shameful, and I wish her no ill but nothing good moving forward if this is the path she wants to continue down.

I know it's gonna be hard to hear up on that high horse, but there were actually valid concerns with her promoting the app back then, that were brought up in the thread, like the fact that the account followed many right wing agitators and mouth pieces. It's an app that made millions. Do you think those two facts are gonna be unrelated?

I will happily change my tone when they decide to stop disrespecting the community they are a part of.

They jump all around this site spreading ignorance on a variety of subjects and then completely close their ears when people try to explain to them as politely as possible why what they're saying is wrong and in some cases dangerously misguided. They've offended, and they've dug their heels in when they've done so with no remorse ever shown for it.

I reached my limit with their horrifically irresponsible discussion of eating disorders not too long ago and their absolute refusal to listen to anybody who told them why their words could be actively damaging to people in this very community. It's a rare thing that I report somebody but it was so ghastly, that I had to. Even thinking about it now is making my skin crawl. I've been in therapy for my own ED for years now, and I've not been that shaken by someone's callousness on the subject in a hot minute. 

And now, here we are with another serious subject, and all they can do is tag multiple users on comments from two years ago to clearly embarrass them and be confrontational. They couldn't simply treat another serious subject seriously, and had to make it all about "HA HA I'M RIGHT YOU WERE WRONG". It could've been a great conversation if they simply said "how have your opinions changed since then?" but it wasn't that. It was this.

It's hard to muster respect toward someone who themselves shows such continuous disrespect to the community in turn. I never go out of my way to be mean to them (I'll playfully shade them when they've invited that sort of engagement purposefully), but they baited me into an engagement seemingly with the purpose of attempting to embarrass everyone they tagged instead of approaching them and simply asking "hey, now that two years has passed, how has your perspective changed?"

I know for certain I'm not the only person who's gotten real tired of their behavior on this site, and I apologize if I've reached a breaking point with it, but I have. The ED debate was sort of my last straw.

I think I only said anyone can practise religion however I draw the line if they believe in superstitious and discriminatory beliefs like God flipped the dead sea upside down because people were having gay sexx, women shouldn't lead, everyone except us are going to hell, etc.
