I think the country rock route she tried to go down would have worked if she worked with different producers - Tame Impala/Mark Ronson just pull from the wrong rock history book to replicate country gal rock imo. 

I personally think she needed to do more with Father John Misty on the country route, like Sinner's Prayer ****ing nails it and is the best track on that album. She really under used that partnership.

ARTPOP. It's not bad but it's just a bit...try-hard. I don't like the uncanny valley statue and I get the concept but it's just not coming across well. It stands out from all her other covers because it's all a bit haphazard and weird. I don't blame the public from turning away from it on the shelf and it doesn't have a distinctive visual of Gaga's human face in it either, which I always think helps.
