Is Gaga influenced by Michael’s Jewish heritage?

Just food for thought … you think Michael’s father Steven Polansky being a writer of Jewish heritage influences Gaga’s stance in recent current events?

We don’t know much about them but I just thought it could affect her decision for staying silent and not being more outspoken as she used to… what do you guys think?

Ugh I was hoping speculation like this wouldn't appear on a Gaga forum but I'm not surprised it did.

Let's be clear - being an author of Jewish heritage does not make Michael's dad either 1) wanting to control his soon-to-be  daughter in law's public speech or 2) anything else regarding Israel/Gaza. I'm Jewish and I stand with Palentinian's rights over Netenyahu's genocidal rhetoric and ethnic cleansing in every way.

Furthermore, I find it much more likely that Gaga's trauma of the years 2013-2020 contribute far more to her silence on politics than what her fiancees dad thinks. For several years she hardly posted anything for Pride Month - if she was feeling that low to not post about the LGBTQ community she fosters, there was no way she would post about such a political minefield as Israel/Gaza is.

I doubt that. I believe she is actually already have deep affection on the country, no need Michael to do that. She went on to have a show there in 2014 despite call for her to cancel. Saying in her show there that the world is wrong about Israel.

I really don’t think anti-semitism is helpful here lmao

How is it anti-Semitic to be critical of a religion based on their ideas about politics?

that’s how they get away with so much.

No one is saying we should stereotype Jewish people or their freedom to have a belief and practice it safely.

it is not anti-Semitic to critique a religion.

I am not Islamophobic because I think their beliefs about gays are wrong.
I am not Christianphobic because I think the established Christian evangelicals often push hate rhetoric.

We have to learn to distinguish between hate and fair criticism.

If Michael’s father writes tropes that are Islamophobic it’s not “antisemetic” to call out HIS Islamophobia. It’s not antisemetic either to think Michael, and thereby indirectly Gaga, have been influenced by this.

For the record, I don’t think Gaga is a Zionist either. I think she is probably an American apologist who is remaining neutral right now because she doesn’t want to have to have an opinion on this. I think if she weren’t with Michael she would have been more vocal about the genocide. Because clearly they look the other way. But I am not sure if she is actually a Zionist so much as she can be for blind toxic positivity at times and not understand that being kind for the sake of kind is not acknowledging and giving empathy to the legitimate anger Palestinians have felt.

Yes, and leave Jewish heritage out of it. So many unfortunately equate AIPAC's cronyism with Jewish identity, and that's not fair or accurate.

I didn’t say his dad was controlling her … I said she “might” be influenced to not speak about it because of this situation. Being controlled and being influenced is two different things

And I mean influence in the sense that she rather be neutral for the sake of both sides which I don’t see it as a bad thing either

By assuming that Steven Polansky's faith makes him a critic of Palestinian rights and affects Gaga's speech on the issue, the OP is unfortunately stereotyping

As I said above, I think her perceived neutrality is the result of the cumulative events of 2013-2020 and her state of mind during them. She hasn't touched political issues in a long time

Not really. They haven’t said anything about Palestinian children innocently getting their heads blown off so I can assume what their stance is: at best, negligence.

That’s not a stereotype. That’s literally what actually has happened.

If I was in a religion and a large powerful group or government claiming to represent my religion was using it to commit a genocide, I would feel obliged to say something. Probably because I am a normal ****ing human being with actual empathy and turning your head to **** like that is a pretty big admission of guilt.
