Safe or not I liked Mayhem more than her previous few albums

This mystique that Gaga is some subversive, avant-garde artist has really been a drag on her in terms of what her fans expect. I love Gaga down, I wouldn't be here if I didn't. But her biggest risks were fashion and antics, NOT her music. Yes she pushed boundaries but those boundaries were still well within contemporary top 40 pop. She just happened to find a niche and a way to be ahead of the curve. Innovative yes. Experimental? Not so sure.

Mayhem is a good album, like i said Disease is not a safe first single. 

Btw: i would love when Lady Gaga would go in the direction of Believe from Cher, it's spiritual and uplifting dance, soooo huge. It's not overproduced but emotional and danceable. 

I mean it not as a copy, but as a Inspiration. Huge emotional uplifting spiritual dance tracks.

Stupid love had nice lyrics in the verses and ore chours, gorgeous vocals, but the chimpunk effects were so dated in 2020 and the overall song was just meh. I do love the elis remix, it fixes the boring basicness of the song.

But the high effects were important to balance out the deep powerful synthesizer bass and to create the sterile-vibrant atmosphere of the song.

If we compare Gaga to her peers and other mainstream pop artists, she is the farthest from safe. I can’t think of any other artists releasing albums like TFM, BTW or ARTPOP. Even currently with MAYHEM. Even the jazz turnover was a huge risk that paid off. She may have played it safe with Joanne and ASIB. But overall she is an enigma in the pop world. No one can pull off what she does.
