I doubt gaga was thinking about TS no shade and hbduwm sounds like more af a ally main + eh eh type of songs

I bet Ajayll will definitely love it. Does the fanbase really know what they mean by "experimental"? Seriously, even if she makes an experiment choice like making Disease a lead single, a song that sounded like nothing on the radio, half of this site still complained about it saying it's too loud and noisy. People here can't even tolerate songs like Killah and then they wish that Gaga was more "experimental". They like to overuse that word a lot, then give some random alternative acts as examples. If Gaga makes music like Bjork and Sophie, most of those people won't even listen to it. They are people who are quickly disappointed when she doesn't dance in a music video or live performance. They want a 40 year old woman with fibromyalgia to dance and exhaust herself no matter what so that they can brag about the choreography on Twitter and tiktok. And there are some people here who complain that she is not "controversial" enough so that she won't live in peace like in her early years. At this point, they don't really care about Stefani, they just want to brag that their fav is more edgy and sh*t to other parasocial pop girl stans. Honestly I'd be more happy if she talks about Palestine, but for most people here it all comes down to Yaaas my fav has talked about Palestine, slay kween. PLEASE END! fashii0n 82
I feel like some of you think being a fan means you have to switch off all critical thinking and praise everything she does. If anything, knowing how insanely talented Gaga is makes me more demanding, not less. She’s clearly capable of doing genuinely incredible, ambitious music, which is exactly why it’s frustrating when she settles for something basic or predictable. The criticism comes from knowing how much more she’s capable of. Another example is Bruno Mars, dude is insanely talented and makes the blandest music ever.

She’s also clearly a fan, I’m pretty sure she posted a couple vids of her listening to TTPD when it came out. There is nothing to critique about her at the moment yall just sound insane atp because you say she’s predictable and we reply with how exactly killah or disease or mayhem requiem etc was predicable..? But then you dgaf and you stay forcing that narrative on people even when it’s factually incorrect and doesn’t make sense some of yall just learned 2 or 3 words like “experimental” and “risky” and just want to use them😂

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Gaga wanting to return to this sound as a little nod to Taylor's role in spotlighting Applause with a new audience. But I do think you are over crediting Taylor by suggesting 1989 is a Taylor sound rather than a sound she took from others at the time. Again, I think Taylor synthesized a sound that others were doing at the time (CHVRCHES, HAIM, Lorde) in a very specific way that is pretty distinctly her recipe atp. I say that and I’m not even a fan lol Edited 8 hours ago by Ladle Ghoulash We have forgotten our public MANNERS

I listen to something because I actually enjoy how it sounds. I didn’t like Mayhem or Chromatica outside of maybe two or three songs, and I’m pretty sure I only listened to Mayhem all the way through once when it came out. The real question is why. I still regularly go back to her first three albums, but almost everything she released after Born This Way feels pretty disposable to me. Those records already contain the strongest version of what made Gaga interesting in the first place. As far as I’m concerned, she could’ve stopped after Born This Way and her musical legacy wouldn’t be missing much.

I’m not claiming she’s an innovator, but I’d say it’s pretty clear that she popularized and synthesized a recognizable format of confessional teeny-boppy 80s synth pop that I think Gaga was clearly referencing on HBDUWM. Also if HBDUWM was released by Taylor it would have been considered a timeless pop classic but for gaga it’s considered a low..🤣

I hate Taylor's music with all my heart and I like HBDYWM and I can say it's Taylor coded and I hear Taylor clearly without my assh*le popping entirely out of my ass. 2
