Red 99,197
Good for her? If food didn’t give me pleasure I’d be grateful for not needing to care about what to eat, one less burden in my life If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating. RAMROD 117,269
Glad he talk about this. ED issues need not to be tabooed. An open conversation is where a positive change can start. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ ᶠʳᵒⁿᵗ ᵗᵒʷᵃʳᵈ ᵉⁿᵉᵐʸ (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡
Juanjo 2,294
It shows! Jokes aside, I don’t think there is anything wrong with seeing food as fuel vs pleasure. However, yeah, he just needs to be very careful of how he says things, as it seems he is quite popular with younger audiences. 27monster27 15,920
This eating disorder issue with major celebrities really needs to be a wake-up call for the world about how beauty standards and mental health issues need to be taken significantly more seriously. That aside, I agree with @****oDanceFight that this will not get nearly as much scrutiny as Ariana because Sombr is a man. he/him/his 1

But lets also consider the difference in delivery. Sombr was asked about it in an interview. Otherwise, doesn't talk about it. Ari is posting in ways that a lot of ED charities and people in recovery say is deliberate pro-ana posting. So while misogyny is an issue, we need to also be honest and adult in that these are 2 different public presentations. We need to see how they continue to speak about or present it to really get a better idea. he/him/his
amourssauvages 187
21 hours ago, NUTELLA said: Exactly. The plausible deniability of it all. Even though that is shrinking for her, day by day. Openly saying something about it isn't insidious. I think it is *unhelpful* & a bit *media-opportunistic* (as gross as that sounds in this context) but at least it is direct. Meanwhile.... AG beating around the bush with outfits intended to show her malnourished body, choosing that narrative about bodily scrutiny in her newest music video ("needs to lose weight"), her vile tongue-in-cheek partnership with uber eats & THEN her intentional silence about the responses... are all insidious. He is shouting for the attention, she is playing with it. I know this is a touchy subject & cynicism is often unwelcome. But it bears repeating: all that matters to these celebrities is that people are talking about them (which translate to various avenues of profit). As far as I’m concerned, until either of them come out & directly say “I am sick. If you are too, here is how you can get help…,” they should both be ashamed for using disordered eating as a talking point in their celebrity narrative (passively or actively). They're recklessly aiding in the derailment of people’s relationships with body image & nutrition… tiny violin in one hand, giant bundles of cash in the other feels good to read someone sensible xoxo 1

Ilia Malinin 2,977
jesus christ. i used to think like this and have started to again. with the rise of glp-1s and thin bodies becoming something everyone wants again, my brain is starting to relapse into disordered patterns after i'd worked so hard for the last 12 years to not think like that again. i look at how many calories are in food, i look at how much sodium and sugar is in it. i hope he's talking to professionals about this. Edited August 6 by Ilia Malinin everyone keeps saying "oh, he's back, he's back!" but the truth is i never left!
StrawberryBlond 15,603
We need to remember that men can have EDs too. We dismiss stuff so much when men say it but it should be taken seriously too. It's concerning that a grown man doesn't feel hungry, hunger is completely natural. If he'd added in something like "I know it isn't healthy, though and I'm going to get help for it" but he just says it as if it's whatever. I don't think he looks unhealthily skinny though but this kinda thing can provide validation to anyone trying to restrict their diet because they'll think that he must be ok because he's not wasting away. 1 1
holy scheisse 22,959
I often say if I had to give up one sense I’d give up taste so that I could just eat for functional purposes and not pleasure that being said. Whether it’s medical or mental, something’s wrong if you feel nauseous from nourishing your body…
TheARTPOPball 1,660
I have the same issue. It sometimes becomes a problem at work. Forcing myself to eat just makes me sick

Confirming a diagnosis would vindicate the media; being combative would generate more discourse; simply saying she’s “healthy” seems to be a stopgap solution until she is willing to come forward on her own terms (at least from my POV). This! I feel for Ari because she is not the parent of her impressionable fan base and if she is struggling with an ED, people often can't see it or want to admit it, why should she admit it to millions or even billions of people because people think by her very existence she is 'promoting' the body. Shes made some questionable choices recently like her uber eats Partnership but ultimately she is damned if she does and damned if she doesn't

The world is definitely trying to force people to relapse or develop new disordered behaviours. Its really sad.
