Mallory got 4% of the vote despite dropping out because her name was still on the ballot. She should’ve dropped out way earlier, Stevens would’ve easily won. Given that up to 50% of Stevens voters are saying they’ll sit out and refuse to vote for Abdul in November, Republicans will most likely win the general. The poll aggregates all had him between 46 to 52%. The final result saw him get 48% of the vote. So well within the median spot of the polls. If you look at specific final week polling. Talvern Research had him at 48%. The Public Sentiment Institute also had him at 48%. Mitchell Research & Communications had him at 52% with a 5% MoE. 48% is within the MoE. Zenith had him at 53% with a 4% MoE. So they were only slightly out. The only poll that had him scoring high & well beyond 48% with an MoE adjustment was a republican pollster. Now the polls did have Stevens sitting at a flat 40% average for the final week. And again this is with an average MoE of 4 to 5% in the polls - and we've seen a clear trend of the MoE being accurate in overestimating the Sayed vote by 4% so we should also recognise by the same measure her support without undecided may have been sitting at 44%. But they also had an average of 10% identifying as undecided. Very very common in final week political polling. The polls didn't get the race wrong, they were pretty accurate. They showed where the decided voters were sitting and they showed us there was a potential kingmaker size undecided voting bloc as anyone with a basic understanding of psephology would expect. The undecideds predominantly fell into the Stevens camp in the final week. And since you bring up Maine. You totally misunderstood the psephology in play there the last time you tried to comment on that race as well. So please, stick to what you know. Especially as we are currently in a position where Stevens is still capable of winning the vote because the Detroit mail-ins are coming in heavily in her favour and you're currently assuming she's lost and trying to compare her to the Maine race you dont understand. Also realistically if Stevens had to spend $60M to have only won a primary by around 2-3% (assuming she would have gotten all or most of McMarrow’s vote share if McMarrow had endorsed) she’s be cooked in the general. Not to mention that AIPAC likely wouldn’t help her against Rogers, so she wouldn’t have the same war chest she had and needed here. But maybe Stevens could’ve gotten an endorsement from McMarrow if islamaphobic Gillibrand and Zionist Schumer (read: the coastal elites behind her stilted campaign) hadn’t sabotaged her because they wrongfully accused her of being DSA.
