People complain about Gaga’s acting ability but her and Bradley should be commended for the fact they acted so well it convinced people their love must be authentic. And bravo to their publicists because they didn’t deny the rumours or anything until Gaga herself shot them down AFTER Shallow won the Oscar. Even if she did feel that way, he was with Irina at the time and had become a father, she wouldn't have broken up something like that. Factor in the gay rumours and yeah...that's another story. She herself confirmed that their closeness and lingering, loving glances was all acting to promote the movie and as she said, it was a love story so they pretended to be in love off-screen too and they clearly did so well that a lot of people believed it. This was instrumental in making the film stick in the public's, critics and most importantly, the academy's minds to ensure ultimate success. We saw the same thing happen for the Wuthering Heights movie this year and again, there was genuine discourse that Margot was cheating on her husband with Jacob.
