ALonelyNight 230 Posted yesterday at 04:22 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:22 PM Chromatica is so lifeless in terms of production, and Gaga's vocals lack her usual passion despite the fact that she's belting as powerful as ever. I hope mainly that she never gets in that headspace she was in where she experienced psychosis (in her own words), which was during that era 1

It is such a well crafted album and way more cohesive than Mayhem as a whole. I mean I say having a job through COVID saved me Still doesn't mean its the best thing ever. Luv u Sum 2,535 Posted yesterday at 04:32 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:32 PM joanne by far. it was just out of character for her and honestly she was really badly mentally ill and i just never want that to happen again and people saying jazz are lame
NewEnglandWitch 65 Posted yesterday at 04:32 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:32 PM I put Fame and Chromatica, but truth be told I would be absolutely fine if she only ever released Jazz again simply to spite the Monsters 😂. Harlequin, Mayhem, and c2c are still daily rotation for me.

I do actually like Hey Girl, but it’s heavily stylized in a way that doesn’t always resonate for folks

NightcallSmile 137
I gotta echo the general sentiment here that Joanne and Chromatica are her weakest records (a sentiment she herself agrees with per her most recent very candid Rolling Stone interview). I don't think there's anything in principle wrong with going folk or house but both these albums ended up as watered down versions of what could have been legitimate great Gaga albums, despite containing some career highlights. I wouldn't be opposed to see her tackling folk or house again, but Mayhem showed she's at her best when she allows herself to be ecletic and pull from many different references. There's basically no point in putting out jazz cover albums, Harlequin was a step in the right direction but still not up to par to her original music releases. 2026 Gaga is a completely different artist than The Fame Gaga, so no point in doing that unless she wants a Katy 143 experience (it would never be as bad as that, but y'all get the point). I think she should just continue leaning into what made Mayhem so great, refine it and go even bolder with the deepcuts, and maybe come up with something a little more cohesive. Most tracks are individually basically all-timers, but the album definitely felt like her reconnecting with her artistic core, and I think she can still go further and potentially come up with her greatest album yet. Post-Chromatica I would never think this to be possible so I'm beyond thrilled to be here writing these words!
The Breast 6,473
Chromatica. It's a great pop album but I don't want her to ever do that genre again 𝓘 𝓯𝓮𝓮𝓵 𝓼𝓸 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓮

SlowLoris 1,204
More people chose Chromatica than Harlequin???? I don't believe y'all. Just trying to be kiss-ups because y'all know Gaga hates chromatica and loves Harlequin

I’d rather listen to the worst song on Chromatica (Fun Tonight or Sine) before I listen to Joanne. Chromatica is S tier.
