I still like it, don’t get me wrong, but compared to everything else she’s done it’s easily the most soulless album in her discography. No substance in the songs beyond “I’m sad so I’m gonna dance through the wreckage” set to the same 90s House drum pattern for 45 minutes. It served its purpose when it came out; it’s what we needed at the time I guess. It has its moments but Chromatica aged in dog years and the fact that people would rather have a sequel of an album that’s lukewarm at best over Joanne simply because “iT bOpS” and Joanne isn’t a dance record feels very very shallow 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Joanne had so much potential, but it was very much watered down and you could see a lot of the songs were kind of repurposed for her.. and wasting Florence fvcking Welch on that boiled chicken of a song?! ELECTRIC CHAIR FOR THE ENTIRE TEAM!!!!!! and the Tony albums are also just boring compared to how off she went on Harlequin.
