But does disease fit the rest of the album it’s on? the album is only mayhem in the sense that it’s a compilation of random songs she made over the last 6 years or so and no cohesion or reoccurring theme. I mean, there's absolutely lyrical cohesion and a reoccuring theme. The only clashes are the musical influences (which is intended). And saying the only mayhem in the album is just choosing to ignore the lyrical and thematic content of the album even after 2 music videos, multiple interviews and entire 2 hour concert ramming that lyrical and thematic content home. Almost as if, and hear me out, it’s mayhem! Gurl BTW and ARTPOP have more wild crazy mayhem chaotic songs than mayhem does. what I’m saying, is the word mayhem does not live up to the sound/genre of the overall album. Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

Gaga has explicitly stated that Mayhem represented the blending of her influences across all the songs and the chaos of learning to love her demons. Think y'all just have poor media literacy. I disagree, I think it really fits the sound actually! But also, I have synesthesia and blues/southern rock looks very ochre to me, so I'm biased The only GGD member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic!

Nah based on the cover, you expect something grandiose and sexy with some jazzy and theatrical vibes. Instead you get something extremely bland and generic, this album is unseasoned water soup 3

The visuals suggest something brassy/cabaret or something sultry/sexy and what we got was a bunch of assorted flaccid synthpop tracks lol And honestly She could pull songs like candyman and a whole retro 50s modern sound. Not something new but in her veins i think

"Life of a showgirl" feels like an extreme comment on how her life ended up being during the Eras tour - pretty normal, if you ask me -. That's the point, I guess? Although I agree it would've been a gag if the proper music style was cabaret Edited Wednesday at 09:24 PM by elegidadedios
