I also love how Miz @Controversiagasees me type 2-3 sentences using *maybe* pre-college level vocab and acts like I’m sweating over it when none of my comments take more than a minute or so to type. No need to project, diva . Just clocking that you usually make a haphazard critique (which can be evaluated and disagreed with) then sidestep to “iT’s jUsT mY oPinIoN” if someone on a public forum replies lol. You don’t have to like anything and no one’s policing you expressing an opinion, but if you expand on your reasoning, you can’t act like it’s out of pocket for someone to engage with it or disagree with it.

Its absolutely a media literacy issue. Especially when some people saying this I have seen post threads here asking for people to explain the most basic superficial surface level lyricism. 

Can you have arguments without questioning people's intelligence though? I expect more from you honestly.

I have no trouble interpreting the iconography of MAYHEM's cover, nor do I have trouble relating it to what Gaga claims the album is about.

Where we disagree is on the lyrical content. I find it as a whole to be abysmal and shallow, and thus it doesn't deliver on the premise as laid forth by the cover and Gaga's own words.

I think it’s Joanne for Gaga. The album was nowhere near as country/folk as the aesthetic implied it would be. 
 

Same with mayhem. While I understand the album now, at the time of release I was very off  put by the sound. 

There’s not many artists this applies to because the concept of an artist fully changing their aesthetics every era belong to few pop stars (Cher, Madonna, Gaga, and I guess Taylor even tho she didn’t really have distinguishable eras until way later in her career). The majority of musicians have their own thing they stick to for the majority of their career or at least several album cycles, so I don’t think this is as much as problem with most artists 

i reluctantly mention Taylor because she seems to be given the credit from the majority of people for coming up with the concept of eras even before tho the others were doing it long before

I just don’t really see MAYHEM as being any more shallow than the bulk of her discography, tbh. Her music, on her face, has never been especially deep and I think most the depth folks read into it tends to come from the way she adds layers thru stage performance, MVs, and her own supplemental interpretations. But that’s just me, ig.
