y’all are such f*ckin’ hypocrites. She once won the local bread eating contest by a country mile and she donated the cash prize to a local org that tells homeless people to get jobs. You could only be so lucky as to have Oprah’s proxy tell you to get a job.

Or why she's been repeatedly called out by other Black women in the industry for perpetuating the same Hollywood systems that underpay and suppress others that look like her? I think she is calling out a very real problem right now which is where unmotivated people are using the greater problems in capitalism as a means to excuse themselves from putting in any serious type of work. And I think she knows how hard she had to work and it probably is disheartening to her. 

Oprah specifically said not to "prioritise worklife balance at 22" when a lot of young professionals are already working incredibly hard in a rigged system designed to keep people like her rich. This isn't a call for good work ethic, its a demand for boundless exploitation so don't shift goalposts here.

Do you how expensive it is to train and maintain enterprise level AI that can completely replace human labour? This is such a BS myth.

Corporations want to keep squeezing maximum human hours in exchange for peanuts so their profit margins stay high and that's not changing soon because a lot companies are hitting a reality check that managing AI is much more expensive than the humans that have been culturally gaslit to accept  exploition and burnout.

Idk there is something about cutting your teeth in your early to mid 20s that makes you appreciate having more money/success/free-time in your late 20s and throughout your 30s. I know not everyone does find that success later but for those that do it does make it taste sweeter

Real leftism is being able to work at a reasonable pace that contributes to a community which 99% of you don’t actually want to do. You want the safety of performative slactivism on the internet while you sit in your safe little middle corporate democrat echo chambers and let republicans completely destroy the environment all so you can pretend you care. 
 

Hard work needs to come back. It just needs to be for the People and a better great purpose, not for billionaires and corporate interest. 
 

there is nothing wrong with understanding when you are beginning in life that you should expect some adversity to get to where you want to be. No one owes you ****. You deserve rights, access to healthcare and food and shelter, freedom, and handouts here and there to help you get there. But alot of you want most of the work done for you. Like….you seriously don’t want to go through any sort of hardship at all and that’s just not how you get somewhere. Expecting it to be some nice path all the time is just as crazy as billionaires expecting to exploit you.

The idea that you can still work hard when young and get rewarded later in life is no longer true, unless you are among the blessed few to have your own business that does well. The reality is that most people work JOBS and not careers. Which should be a perfectly fine path in life, but the rich want to gaslight the young into thinking that's lazy.

Its not even just that. 

The entry level jobs market is under constant attack. The availability of opportunities for young people entering the job market has never been worse in peacetime outside of actual economic crashes.
