SavetheEarthNow 62
Europeans are doing absolutely fine balancing work and their free time. It's only North America where people are expected to do nothing but work 2 or 3 jobs and sacrifice their lives. It's only North America where the endless pursuit of more this, more that, gimme gimme gimme material wealth plagues people. timdrake 1,923
I was thissssclose to trying to explain what I think she meant, but y'know what, if people want others to understand their points, they can say it right themselves the first time we can die at any time, so while I think sacrificing and planning for the future is realistic and important, your whole life shouldn't just be about work. making time for yourself is important at ANY age. I'm not saying you need to take a 2 week vacation overseas every 6 months of work, but a life can have balance I get that Oprah worked hard to get to where she is today, and I respect that, but her experience is soooo not universal. not everyone is trying to become the next Oprah

Bronco 25,122
Same generation that complains about the declining birth rate among americans. Can't have the nuclear family model necessary for sustainable populations without legitimate work-life balance. AI is horrible for the environment and they are no longer pretending to care about solving it. Instead they are working to replace workers and at the same time destroying education and critical thinking. Democracy and skills will no longer be needed. The dream of free labor without having to take care of the poors will come true for the rich. The poors will have no choice but to submit to the people who control AI because it will control productivity, our food, water (which will be scarce once the climate apocalypse hits). I’m a little irritated and rambling but I am so fucking sick of these billionaires telling us how to live. She can shove it and F*CK off. Her wealth shouldn’t even exist. 6
