Which isn’t shade, because it was a direct answer to a direct question. Shade requires some level of ambiguity. Lucas 31,130
For me: - Being on Dr Luke's side, deleting suspicious tweets to defend him, working with him again on her last album. Releasing a feminist single produced by a rapist. - Puting her vagina is some girl's face (literal sexual assault) - Shaded Britney multiple times - Never evolved as an artist, never will
StrawberryBlond 15,569
She's done a whole bunch of stuff other than flopping over the years that have made people dislike her (forcing those nuns out their home, putting out songs fetishising lesbianism, having a history of sexually harassing men, shading Gaga and other female artists, working with homophobic rappers, having a bad image change with the Witness era and more) but by far her biggest crime in the eyes of the public and namely, the youth market was...being a flop. When someone like Katy, who's made specifically to appeal to kids (simple catchy songs with colourful and silly visuals) and teens (a publication once said that she looked as if "she was sketched by a teenage boy") is no longer considered successful, cool and hot (even regaining her hotness recently wasn't enough to erase the image of the bad Ellen haircut), she's done because those metrics are crucial to them for supporting an artist, which is sad but true. And a lot of her original fans grew up and moved on to more mature artists considering she was still chasing the youth market even though she's a divorced mom who's pushing 40.

I think her biggest sin is she hasn't grown with her audience, and because she didn't grow in time with her audience, people now find her inauthentic with her music and topics. For example she grew a bit when she was making music about her daughter, but then made a swift u-turn straight back when Woman's World came out. I think that's something that has separated her and Gaga over the years explicitly. Gaga has become more sophisticated in her music, her image and her connection to her art. Katy has not.

A liar in that instance perhaps but not phony. If anything though her instinct has been proven right with time.
