Drone flies 110 kms into Romania, airspace closed in 6 counties as it's shut down

A drone that entered Romanian airspace on Friday morning on the Sulina–Brăila–Fetești–Buzău route was shot down around 11:00 by a Romanian Air Force F-16 aircraft, above an uninhabited area near the town of Padina, Buzău County.

The Ministry of Defense states that the target was detected by radar at 9:39, and authorities issued RO-Alert messages in the counties along the drone's trajectory.

"Around 11 am we received RO-Alert, more planes were heard, we didn't think anything of it, but we read the message and even louder noises were heard. Someone called me and told me that army planes were circling, that's when I got scared ," a woman living near Padina, Buzău County said. 

In a Facebook post, Defense Minister Radu Miruță congratulated the Romanian pilots and said that the intervention is proof that investments made in national defense are starting to yield results.

Not sure how so many can't see this is what's happening. Just like Trump's tariffs on Canada, another distraction.

Because it's not happening. Russia can't afford a war against the EU let alone NATO. The US is distracted, yes, but it's not like Russia could do anything meaningful and substantial agains the EU. It would be extremely expensive and would pain Europe, but Russia is weak, economically and militarily.

It's more likely Russia is sensing they can get away with terrorising Romania. By this point they can bomb Bucharest and not much will happen.

A second drone entered Romanian airspace in the span of 2 days and was downed in Tulcea.

If they are using similar Drone production methods as Iran, they can produce cheap low-accuracy and relatively small power drones on a mass scale at a relatively cheap cost. 

Absolutely not enough to fight an expanded conflict on, which is where I agree with @bpmMonkey but it's absolutely enough for them to start performatively sabre rattling. 

It's psyops. They're trying to take advantage of the situation caused by the Iran war to psych out European leaders into abandoning Ukraine/forcing Ukraine into a formal establishment of the current territorial stalemate via a peace deal.
