Mmm it's not the best album, but I really like some songs. I would say a 6.8/10

Listened to it on my way to work and I enjoyed it. Feels like it will grow on me with more listens.

I really dig the production and find it to be a great blend of rock and electronic (with elements of indie sleaze). The lyricism was a mixed bag for me. Some of it I think works really well as the confessional side of Charli, while others kind of felt like a diary of thoughts that feel jumbled. I do agree with some people who have said that some songs left you wanting more and felt like unfinished demos. Not that it's a bad thing, but I can see where people are coming from.

I think if you’re strictly a pop fan who’s used to predictable structures and idealism you would probably hate the album or not understand it from an artistic perspective. I’m gonna do a comprehensive review thread of it soon.

I was soooo skeptical and a bit bored but honestly she served with this as a whole imo.

and yeah it’s 100% concept album as I expected but it doesn’t come off pretentious as I first thought.

she was right to put out an album with that kind of rawness because she had no other choice but to follow up BRAT as loud as she could. and anything a little too accessible would be labeled underwhelming and even a step back.

it’s no doubt pop and it makes her even more solidified as a pop front woman but the references she pulled within the alternative moodboard and her own music journey and inspiration are laid out in a fun way.

and it’s obvious she went for a big bite, it’s maximalist just like BRAT behind this blasè facade.

yeah is really a highlight for me and one of her best songs because it’s really her. but all the album tracks are really interesting and Wink Wink grew a lot on me out of the singles.

I give it a B+ or a 7.8

Cute album. I’m happy to see Charli doing the music she wants because it sounds exactly that, just the music she’s inspired to do. Seems like Brat’s a bit older sister album. I don’t really love it and don’t feel like I’m going to listen to it a lot but it has some fun moments here and there but will be watching the film to see how I feel about it.

Really cool album. Works best as a body of work, imo. I love how she balances a very wistful pop sensibility with slice of life, confessional, stream of consciousness lyricism and some heavy synth lines and distorted guitars. The Cronenberg monologue at the end really puts a nice pin on the record as something of a thesis statement: reckoning with the tension between life and art, artifice and authenticity, ephemerality and permanence, and youth and aging.
