Canada: Polls Show Carney Still Way Ahead But Gap With Conservatives Narrow

Mark Carney as of last poll had an approval rating of 66% though new poll has it at 56%, despite the drop, still one of the highest for any Prime Minister In recent history however the Lead the party has as a whole has narrowed. 

 

Liberals: 41% (Centre Wing, Currently in Power)

Conservatives: 35% (Right Wing)

NDP: 14% (Left Wing)

Bloc Quebecois: 6% (Quebec Seperatists)

Green Party: 2% (Far left, especially high focus on environment above all)

Peoples Party Of Canada: 1% (Far Right, severely anti immigrant, anti environmental action of any kind, anti social services for lower taxes)

Other: 1%

His government is facing probably the most complex and chaotic scenarios in this century. For me, he's doing a good job at balancing and navigating through the unpredictability and unreliability of the US and the current domestic issues that Canada is facing.  

Canada is decoupling from the US, and its government is doing it pragmatically, which I doubt the conservatives would've done.

Agreed. Trying to do the right things to mamage the US while mamaging Canadian at home noise also isnt easy

 

Trump just announced 50% tarrifs on some stuff because of Canadas alcohol ban. Carney never made that decision, some Provinces did and its popular with the electorate. Now he has to either nudge the premiers to take that off or face wrath of the US

 

Very difficult fine line he has to keep walking
