That's not what I said.

not only in the intro drowned by the dance and electronic elements is what i meant, it is not only like that in the intro, she uses the riff as a hook, and it is very upfront in the mix later together with the dance drums instead of the sort of goth strings in the intro
i don't know what you even mean by "drowned out" by the dance elements, since when the song is more dance electro oriented in the verses and chorus, the guitars are not even present at all lmao...

you guys slammed the disease video for not having dance choreography, none of you would be able to handle a "rock" era or any sort of unconventional music era, you guys keep her restricted in a commercial box and straight up refuse to even analyse her art just because it's not a hit or she didn't wear this or it was produced by him etc

personally, i need her to go down the NIN route

mother, what must i do?

I disagree that its upfront in the mix with the drums and synths when it's used in the song. I think its drowned out. It feels forced into spaces where it doesn't actually fit or contribute to the song.

i mean it's not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing, it's what the sound it's like, there is no wall of sound in this song unlike a lot of other Gaga songs where there are so many sounds cluster together, which is not necessarily bad but the sound she goes for sometimes, the parts where the guitar is present is literally just the guitars together with the church bells, and either the strings or the drum set, and sometimes some synths but that's it.

The part about it feeling forced, well that's subjective and that's on perception, we can disagree on that

but even at that, how can it be forced and be drowned out at the same time? if something is drowned out is not forced, it gets lost, something getting lost wasn't forced enough....

God you really are a metal head.

Refusal to accept people have different opinions about subjective topics.

Casual misogynistic dismissal of female rock acts.

Mmmm, no, i pretty much accept that, just acknowledging that there is both subjective as well as fact when it comes to talking about music doesn't mean that i don't.

"Casual misogynistic dismissal of female rock acts" or just mainstream major record label acts? and that claim as i'm here making the case as to why another female in that same lane actually deserves more credit for her take on the genre? I cited only females as counter examples because that's what we most talk about in here, but i think the exact same about most of the outputs of male acts in the same vein such as MGK or Yungblud for example.

It's also funny that you mention this because the majority of the bands and artists i listen and love the most are actual female rock and metal acts, and that is the scene i'm interested in the most. the fact is that bands and artists such as Paramore are closer to the likes of Taylor Swift than to this actual scene. In fact Hayley was reported cozying up at her wedding, that is the scene Paramore actually belongs to.

A song that clears the entirety of Rebel Heart? Inchresting :oprah:

Ghost Town is actually a better song imo (and it's me who says that) 😆  But I'd rather have it sung by someone else 😆

Love the mess this thread digressed into. Some classic Babyghoul soft core 🌽, some Madge insults, some 🚬 jokes - y’all busted out the classics in this thread.

but no. no rock music - even if the dance floor is dead. I’d rather she made an original jazz album before a rock album.

I too would love another rock directional work. I count a lot of BTW for it’s 80s rock influence. I actually thought Mayhem was going to be significantly more grunge than it ended up being (still ties with ARTPOP for my favorite). I really love Bear McCreary’s Singularity project, and I feel like it’s closer to the theatrics I would anticipate from Gaga doing metal, which I otherwise do not vibe with.
