DC is in a bad state right now, James Gunn has taken over as head of the studio and has been making horrendous creative decisions

The way Gaga and Adam Driver will meet again if she and him casted (Adam was rumored to be either Mister Sinister, William Stryker, or Magneto)  :ororomunroe:

Hoping this is a rumour. I prefer when she acts in standalone projects that don't have a backstory already. I think that's why I liked House Of Gucci so much. I'm holding out hope we're gonna get our low budget SlasherGa....one day :saladga:

If you wanna be technical House of Gucci DOES have a backstory because it’s based on the real (and fictionalised) history of the Gucci family and empire. :poot: but I get your point.

I'm just not a comics person I'm afraid. I can get into it but on the whole would prefer something that stands on its own outside of any franchise

You’d be hard pressed honestly to get ANY of that in modern cinema sadly. Everything is either based on other media, a prequel, a sequel, a reboot, a remake, a spin off, a biopic. Even The Odyssey isn’t original since it’s based off the mythological poetry. Writing truly original roles hasn’t been a thing since the 2000s :/

But also nothing wrong with not being a comics fan I know it’s not for everyone I personally love them, even though Marvel comics are kind of dire atm creatively.

That’s ok if you don’t agree, I just think personally; it’s glaringly obvious DC hired him hoping he’d make the DCU like the MCU. But doing SuperGirl and now some random Gorilla character as your second and third movies is ridiculous imo, the general public just do not care and all they want is everything to tie together and do The Justice League.

Thats all he had to do; make Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Aquaman as a basis. I just don’t get his creative decision to do SG, that Gorilla movie and Lanterns TV series.

Can I ask as a genuine question and discussion, what do you think he’s done well creatively and do you think he’s making the right decisions? I could understand him doing some of those projects AFTER a JL movie, he just hasn’t earned the respect of his audience I feel yet to go beyond the expected.

She needs to do horror. It'll suit her so well

This is a type cast for her, aside from musicals LBR :ororomunroe:

CBM are so left field for her that  it could work for her, so long the script is well written and the director is not setting their actors up like the last time :vegas:

Dream role for her is Rhaenys Targaryen for the upcoming Aegon's Conquest movie lol

I think spreading out character introductions in batches across several projects instead of giving them all focused movies is smart. Having Supergirl (who we could all guess wouldn't do as well box office-wise) come out as the 2nd mainline movie gets the difficult slump out of the way early to progress the story was the smartest thing they could have done. I think letting their different stories have varied tones instead of one standard vibe keeps it interesting. Tying the movies directly to the comics is helping DC as a whole in general. I think giving us stories centering characters that aren't well known to the gp to set up the larger story instead of constantly retreading what we've gotten from past eras makes the universe feel fresh. I think making the animated projects canon is smart because the gp's interest will get sparked by seeing certain characters show up in the mainline movies, they'll google them, and learn that they can find out more about them/the overarching story by watching the shows that are already available to stream. I think skipping the endless origin stories gives the universe a big headstart that keeps the new DC from feeling like a MCU rip-off.

Imo he's mostly making the right decisions. After MOT, he'll already have half of the Justice League set-up for an ensemble movie and several members of JLI *and* JLD ready to go if that's the direction they want to go in. In 1/8th of the time it took for the MCU to do the same for their super group to get established. There may be one or two side upcoming projects that should've been made into canon stories (like Dynamic Duo) to kick the big story into high gear faster, but I'm here for it nonetheless.

It's a NO from me. These remakes of remakes are so uncalled for and boring. There are two scenarios that Gaga should play a superhero or rather a supervillain. Either in her own 10 minutes long music video or in an original movie/ a movie based on sth that was never adapted before and ONLY if she is in some sort of creative binge as she was in BTW times, with a good album release in the meantime. If not, she should go for some oscar-worthy roles, preferably something realistic, with a complex character, with a story about crime, abuse or anything emotionally intense.

Honestly at the moment with Gaga being quiet, these kinds of rumours are coming up here there and everywhere without much basis. I find it difficult to put much stock in any of them.

That said, at least it gives us something to talk about :huntyga:
