Seriously, thanks to CII, many young LM here discovered Madonna.

My husband shared with me a reel he saw on about the Lovedrug - Danceteria - Into the Groove similarities from Paws Down social.. and that's it basically..

Look, there are hardcore fans that will always be bitter about Gaga, and will say "queen queen queen", they are irrelevant, most of Madonna fans are Lady Gaga fans and vice versa..

I don’t contribute to stan twitter but I scroll for entertainment. One thing I’ve noticed is LM’s have made enemy’s with so many fandoms it’s hilarious. The Madonna fans, katycats, shakira fans, beyhive, Tate McRae fans, even arianators etc all despise LMs :ladyhaha:

Confessions II has led to a huge spike in Gaga hate, as the OP has pointed out.

The only fandoms I see being positive about Gaga are Billie eilish fans. Despite DWAS overtaking BOAF soon, they’re framing it as ‘oh slay interscope girlies stick together’. I’d also say most Miley fans on twitter like LMs, as they tend to be LM-adjacent, and swifties.

Haven't seen something either, except maybe a poll "which dance album is the best of '20s so far",  in which there are about 5-6 to choose from.

However, did they lie? Haven't returned to Chromatica for a long time. Something always felt amiss for me production wise.

meh, it's viby and everything but Madonna's monotone vocals and speaking voice really keeps boring me, and it's only getting worse, the reliance on production is something that lessens the quality of albums for me, i like to feel the personality of the human behind singing, and then everything else be shaped by it.

I mean, she’s 67 years old and has never been as gifted of a vocalist as Gaga. I’d like a livelier vocal as well, but I just think as a piece of music CII is more compelling than most of Chromatica 🤷

Being a technically gifted vocalist is completely irrelevant to being a great artist or how much I enjoy a piece of music anyway. Some of my favorite artists of all time are people who have very unconventional voices like Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Janis Joplin etc

A few things:

I've never seen any of this.

Get off Twitter. It's a Nazi site ran by a billionaire pedophile nazi.

Who gives a s***.

I’ve been reading lots of bits online from Reddit and other places and haven’t come across any Gaga-bashing as such. Obviously I’m sure there are “those fans” who like to create drama. Chromatica was Gaga’s last attempt at a pure dance album and as such comparisons will no doubt arise in some discussions. It’s not a valid comparison based on content as they are both completely different types of dance records.

Future Lovers

The vast majority of Little Monsters and Madonna fans alike moved on from this years ago.

At this point if you’re still seeing it, it’s because you’ve willingly put yourself in the places that it’s happening. In my corner of the internet, people love them both.

StressedOut

I'd be inclined to somewhat agree, but there are so many monsters that are bad actors of the same flavor, which isn't very #PromoteOnlineKindness of them :lolga:

it's more funny to me she comes to mind at every release lol

I haven't seen it but uhhh idk, people are always doing too much to pit womens' art against each other. don't even worry about it. let haters be haters, and then you'll know who to steer clear of

Even Madonna herself did that with Gaga, playing a mashup of Express Yourself/Born This Way/She's Not Me on a whole World Tour...

This stuff all happened ages ago, doesn't need to keep being beaten like a dead horse and is mild in the grand scheme of things but here is a sequence of events for anyone dumb enough to still think Gaga was an entirely innocent victim in that spat.

Initially Madonna was openly supportive of Lady Gaga and even attended one of her early concerts. During the creation of BTW album Gaga had been listening to Like a Prayer and clearly took inspiration from Express Yourself. Now obviously there is nothing wrong with that but Gaga deliberately failed to name Madonna as an inspiration for the song and named other artists like Whitney Houston instead, most likely because she wanted to avoid copycat discourse. Madonna initially made no comment on BTW but people picked up on the similarity themselves and started asking Gaga about it and during an interview Gaga outright lied saying she had reached out to Madonna before BTW was released, thereby confirming her failure to cite Madonna was deliberate. A statement from someone on Madonna's team denied Gaga had ever reached out and Madonna shaded her by calling the song reductive shortly afterwards. Gaga and people in her camp crashed out and started shading Madonna on Twitter which prompted Madonna to play a mashup of the two songs on her tour which was the killshot of the spat. Gaga has cited Madonna as an inspiration ever since and the two have been on friendly terms for years now. The two fanbases need to move on.

I believe that in the leaked documents, it actually has been proved that she indeed reached Madonna and she's getting royalties for the sample, but Interscope didn't want to add her name to the credits on the album.

long story short, Interscope created this whole drama, but they lost control on everything the moment the teams and the fans started to actually hurt the artists.

Since then, interscope didn't support Madonna much and Gaga had the famous decline.
