European fans already arent happy with the amount of breaks anyway so adding in a 20 minute break for a halftime show and ads is gonna go down like a lead balloon. Yes I confirm as an European I am so disgusted by the amount of publicitary spots and ads of this WC... I hope the hydratation breaks won’t be added to normal club matchs and other competitions. I wouldn’t be shocked if they add specific ad breaks to every future World Cup like this and if they’ve tested it and feel it’s worked I wouldn’t be shocked if they add them to some official FIFA games. Here in the UK if it airs on the BBC there’s no ads it just cuts back to a discussion in a studio from commentators and former players. Hopefully there won’t be any other halftime shows for the next World Cups it’s pointless. The only worthy halftime show happened in 2017, but the concept in itself is annoying. That’s why when there was a bad weather during the Irak vs France, they did a long break during the match. But reporters specified that this rule was applied in the American hosting context. This summer, I felt like I watched a WC under hostage by Trump... If the world don’t explode before 2030, I think the rules won’t be the same. Portugal, Spain and Morocco seems like good hosts.
