I've liked him as far back as I could remember with Amish Paradise.  

 

Per what he said Gaga's manager and the time rejected parodying her lyrics.  Then Gaga got wind of it said she loved Al and the rest was history

Weird Al is so nostalgic for me! Love him and I listened to him a lot as a kid in the late 90s- 00s. And I’ve grown to appreciate his ability to make his parodies funny and entertaining without really disparaging people. Even Fat comes across as a pride anthem if you think about it
