He left because they were dating (hence why his nickname was DaDa) and they split up so he stopped working with her. He went to work with Kanye West and then became the head of Givenchy. Gaga said in 2010 that she “decided” to separate their creative partnership and love life because it began to interfere with their creativity. Funnily enough though she wore a custom outfit he made for her at the 2021 inauguration for Biden (the bulletproof one). Also Boomkack only became partially her creative partner on videos and performances, Nicola became her actual creative director after DaDa during pre-Born This Way before Boomkack left and remained as such till Brandon Maxwell took over during ARTPOP. You can chronologically see when her style changed between creative directors; The Fame’s DIY popstar was DaDa’s help, her avant-garde theatrical style afterwards was Nicola’s help, her stripped down relatable and glam star look was Maxwell that was continued by Todd Tourso and now her modernised streamlined popstar look is Parris. He basically didn’t even exist at the time and why him specifically? Like, he sounds nothing like R.Kelly or his style of singing… Also, DWUW is way too heavy compared to Abel’s style. If anything, out of her collaborators, Bruno, Bey or even Florence would’ve been more logical… but except maybe Bruno, I don’t think anyone would’ve done such a great job. Even Xtina made it unlistenable. Musically (AND lyrically, especially the latter) R.Kelly was the perfect choice…. Ngl, Gaga should’ve opened her eyes on him, closed her mouth and found a way to make him sing the song without him ever earning a penny from it. Like an humiliation ritual.
