I don't know why people all over Asia wants to look as pale as possible when many of them are already fair skinned. Colourism is so rampant here, almost all Asian countries. It's very exhausting to look at as a dark skinned Asian myself.

Are we really surprised? Korean beauty standards are brutal, and the Korean 'netizens' try to destroy everyone who deviates from their norm. In light of these circumstances, I don't think its too surprising K-Pop idols edit themselves on fotos to be as light skinned and thin as possible. Only this time it backfired 

That's why I celebrate Queen Hwasa! That poor woman has been told time and time again that she is ugly, fat and too dark skinned, and that she has no right to show off a body like hers. In response, she creates outfits and performance styles that emphasize exactly the parts of her body people criticize her for The IT girl that created her own beauty standard in South Korea!
