I think it’s because (same for waiting to start Online on console) they want people to enjoy the world without other people’s input and actually play the story they’ve worked on first. Because they know the real reason people want GTA is for the online feature primarily.

They also are against modding, which is ironic since the biggest online servers for GTA have always been the RolePlay ones that are mod heavy. But they’ve said they’re taking a strong stance against modding in online this time around, but actually making servers themselves instead of fans having to mod them.

So not only it will cost 100 dollars to play the story but we have to pay 2 subscriptions to play online, the game mode that everyone will use in the long run?  that means pcs will pay too?

$100? I'm absolutely cool paying that. Rockstar goes so hard with their games. If GTA6 even comes close to RDR2 levels of quality and immersion it's worth $100 and more imo.

There's nothing like a quality immersive game.

For all their faults, Bethesda is one of my favorite studios simply because I can get absolutely lost in an open world sandbox game.

Rockstar though? They're the kings of it. GTAV was already peak but RDR2 forced us to slow down and truly appreciate the world the developers had built. I'm hoping GTA6 is a mix of both where we can have the high octane and sarcastic GTA antics with the lovingly crafted moments in-between where we slow down and say "damn...what a game"

And it's set in Florida so I have first hand experience with the real life version

I love escapism too but I think people are being unrealistic about what GTA is gonna be and what they want from it. Most of the content I’ve seen people want from it is akin to a cosy life simulator and the sims or a black mirror sci-if second life thing. People forget that the actul mechanics of GTA6 arent gonna be much different from 5. Also they seem to forget it’s an action game not an RPG lol.

If they wanna act like real life in a video game, they should wait for the Fable reboot which looks amazing.
