This is like UN acknowledging knife found in kitchen. What are they going to seriously do about this when it took years for them to just acknowledge a genócidē going on in Gaza?

Imagine being this late.

The “leaders” in charge are just whiny followers.

This. I am horrified by the ways in which antisemitism has risen since 10/7, but Israel’s own propaganda has served as a force multiplier of antisemitism and what’s needed now is not doubling down on the harmful and inflammatory insinuation that critique of Israel is antisemitic, but rather, accountability for the state and active decoupling of the global Jewish identity from the state of Israel. But so long as criticism of the Israeli government’s war crimes are called antisemitic, more fuel is given to legitimate antisemites like Tucker Carlson to use righteous fury against the Israeli government as an on-ramp to wholesale antisemitism.

It's actually disturbing how popular Carlson is becoming. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the Republican nominee in 2028 and he'll actively take advantage of rising anti-Israel sentiment as a cloak for his/his group's antisemitic bullsh*t and ride it straight to at least second place.

I just wanna rant for a second

Israel had a moment of opportunity for a millisecond. After the attack, the world was ready to rally around them 9/11 style. Even people like me who've never been fans were ready to at least lend sympathies. It was horrific, after all, and there were hostages taken who had little/nothing to do with Israel's gross history of abuse.

But their immediate response was to commit atrocities on a scale a hundred times larger. Carpet bombing thousands of unrelated innocent people, thousands of children, hunting refugees, forced evictions of millions, and they shouted from the rooftops "WE DO THIS FOR THE JEWISH PEOPLE BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT'S BEST FOR THE JEWISH PEOPLE".

And even now we get so many...just terrifying accounts. Palestinian prisoners being raped by dogs who've been trained to do so, children being run over by bulldozers while in IDF captivity, the destruction of farm land to make sure nobody can settle there again, it's despicable sh*t and they keep trying to attach the Jewish name to their actions.

Gee, I wonder why we suddenly saw such a dramatic rise in intolerance for Jewish people :rip:

I'll keep pointing to American Jews as the barometer for where the Jewish people really are as a people of faith and a people with Jewish history because they're the ones who've largely been spared the propaganda and, frankly, stress and terror of living in Israel and around so many enemies, foreign or domestic.

Nearly half of them support dissolving Israel as a state and creating a "bi-nation" with Palestinians and Israelis having equal rights and opportunity for representation. The vast majority support at least a two state solution where Israel rebuilds Palestine and grants it independence in the hopes of a cooperative future.

Now, would that work? Probably not.

Considering 56% of Jews polled in Israel support kicking Arab people out of Israel. (According to this 2025 IDI poll)

Or considering 79% of Jews in Israel were largely unconcerned with the resulting famine in Gaza. (According to this Viterbi poll)

The ethnostate mentality is pervasive in Israel and until that is broken and the Israeli people themselves are deprogrammed, or at least until meaningful opposition arises and sweeps support from the "it's us against the world" crowd, it will continue to power these extremist monsters like Netanyahu and his government who can prey on their worst fears to rise to and cling to power while employing subterfuge and lobbying to get a strangle hold on nations like the US.

They have all the weaknesses of America (violence, nationalism, propaganda, supremacists running the state) but none of the buffers that keep the US from collapsing under the weight of its own greed and thirst for blood (incredible diversity, meaningful opposition in political parties, a decentralized federal system of 50 different governments, sheer size, a population of people unwilling to fight wars).

Or, tl;dr - Israel is at fault for the rise of antisemitism and its dooming itself. If the people don't wake TF up they'll find themselves SOL and isolated in a world that hates them. Not because they are Jews, but because they are Israeli.

Ok, and what are they gonna do about it now that they publicly accepted is happening, huh? :littlepotter:

Didn't the UN started all of this, tho? When they tried to divide that land but one group didn't agree or something like that? :neyde:

My own li’l rant:

The grim irony of “liberal Zionists” using the antisemitism defense for the genocide in Gaza flexing their role in other civil rights/social justice movements is the genuine antisemitic backlash that’s already underway from that propaganda campaign is also going to have negative downstream effects on basically every marginalized community in the US. You already see Carlson types making overtures to the idea that LGBTQ+ acceptance is a Jewish machination designed to undermine the Christian morals of the West and I wouldn’t be shocked to see the “Jewry”/cultural Marxism arguments expand to feminism, racial equality etc. By sticking to these intellectually dishonest and outright defamatory talking points, they’re helping fuel the rise of genuine Neo Nazism.

What’s worse is if you start thinking about how the war in Iran continues to ravage the economy, the rise of the Carlson school of America First Neo Nazism and its parallels to the rise of the Nazi movement in Germany becomes clear: Much of the far right/Nazi propaganda post WWI was that the Jews were responsible for castrating the German monarchy and forcing concession in the war, bringing political and economic ruin to the country. With the explicit ties Trump has to Israel and the obvious puppeteering going on re: Iran and the economic and political fall out that will continue for years (if not decades to come) after this conflict, it will be very easy to sell many Americans on not just blaming Israel, but also blaming the Jews (and, by extension, many movements that have been historically depicted as “cultural Jewry” by Nazis, such as LGBTQ+ rights, social equality etc.).

The fact that Tucker Carlson is the loudest (and, in many cases, most correct) voice on the issue rn and is also simultaneously the same guy who said “Weimar problems require Weimar solutions” about trans people, I don’t really think this is that far of a cry. And it ultimately will have been aided by the Zionists.

Even worse: I’ve also seen his rhetoric offering cover for Holocaust denial. On a TikTok clip I saw of his show where he said not even Goebbels was as bloodthirsty as Ben Gvir (an obviously ridiculous claim, given the loss of life in the Holocaust) and a huge chunk of the comments were folks saying Hitler deserved an apology (because if Israel reflects the Jews, then he was right about the Jews, thus the Holocaust was justified) or comments insinuating that it never happened. The progressive left needs to start taking the offense on critique of Israel and outflank the far right on populism *immediately* to stop the rise of this movement.
